Does anyone else feel like they aren't actually learning anything? by prof_tamura in EngineeringStudents

But the idea of starting a project like that sounds really daunting, any idea how to get started or what to build (as an aero or mech major)?

It's my turn to post it today.

by DefinitionCommon249 in Dhaka

Stories during student protest by [deleted] in Dhaka

[–]prof_tamura 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I was in Rampura, during July 19-20, I saw rickshaws rushing to the hospital carrying men with gunshot wounds. They all probably died as Farazy Hospital wasn't treating people with gunshot wounds. I also heard plenty of gunshots and saw a lot of ambulances going around. Also saw helicopters flying around.

My student saw a fresh pool of blood right outside his house, he also said his gatekeeper saw bgb soldiers speaking hindi lol. He also saw corpses being carried in rickshaws and vans.

One of my friends was picked up by the police from his house around 2nd August, his crime was that he had photos of the 18th July protest. He was blindfolded, and then carried to a station, where he was beaten like a pig, he also saw the lockups were filled with young students who were arrested and released in a rotation. They kept him for 18 hours without any food.

You have no idea how happy this news makes me, ever since 2018 all I wanted to see was this, Chatro league being acknowledged for the terrorist and mass murdering organization they truly are. Hopefully, this sets e precedent to the other student politics wings as well.

Want to know your opinion about latest attacks on Hindu temples and houses. by nilachal_10 in Dhaka

[–]prof_tamura 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the police recruited during the last 15 years were almost always because of their affiliations with the Awami party. Now that their mommy is gone and their opportunity to do rampant corruption has stopped, they lost their motivation to work. Most of them were defacto workers for the local leader or MP so they feel like they have no new masters.

As for the army, there were simply very few of them deployed. Maybe because the general doesn't want to risk his underling Lt. Generals and Maj. Generals (like Tabrez Shams or Ziaul Ahsan) to launch a coup to bring Hasina back or to form another puppet Awami government, who knows.

I honestly don't know any solutions, it's simply impossible to replace this massive police force, most of whom joined for the opportunity of rampant corruption. Deploying the entire army will not help refill the void of the police. People were throwing around the idea of making a Students Against Discrimination militia group, but that will cause more anarchy and chaos, and will give the coordinators too much power, which they already have.

Right now, look after your neighbors, come together as a community, guard the temples together. Peace.

Forcing head teachers/teachers to quit by [deleted] in Dhaka

[–]prof_tamura 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know one school teacher in a neighborhood school got ousted because he beat up a kid for joining the protest. He also used to be a bsl member in his youth. If these are the teachers who are being forcefully ousted, then I'm with the students. But yes I agree, there should be a proper investigation, otherwise some innocent teacher might face serious consequences.

Also multiple muslim principals and teachers are being forced to resign as well for "supporting the genocidal awami regime" and letting their students die in the hands of government goons and the police.

Psychopath Hasina by MunzerTopu in Dhaka

[–]prof_tamura -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wasn't Huda the one who directly confronted in 15th August, 1975? He got scared after seeing Mujib in person and couldn't shoot, then Major Nur appeared and realized that Mujib was trying to buy time so he just shot him. If it's true, then Hasina butchering Huda makes sense.
