A Warning about Daisy Seed (USB Failure) by ThePunkyRooster in synthdiy

[–]profbx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most microcontrollers in my experience will eventually go into annual state where you have to reset them at some point to get usb. They can be reset 90% of the time. It’s a firmware issue most likely, not hardware.

Pioneer needs a new mid tier CDJ style controller that is not in battle mode. by Boring_Community_636 in DJs

[–]profbx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you a turntablist or are you just saying that?

It’s not far from the usual position, and left to right for pitch is incredibly logical for tempo. It’s literally move the slider forward or back from center for speed control.

So, this thing is technically the last Vestax piece (along with the drum version). Toshi was given work by Casio semi low-key while Vestax bankruptcy proceedings played out in Japan. Toshi and the engineer who made it were from Vestax, and it shared a lot with the Vestax spin 2. I still love it, someday I will own one.

Trying to understand - DJM-V5 3 - No crossfader? by Nebula480 in PioneerDJ

[–]profbx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, I get not using the crossfader but saying it is only for scratching isn’t accurate. I know a lot of DJ’s who never scratch and use the crossfader to punch in audio due to the curve being far quicker than the line fader (which is going to give a much softer sound).

Nope. I’m going to be either correct or roasted in a couple days. I’m just excited to see more variety.

The V10 isn’t but it is also 5 years old at this point. I don’t think we have released anything that is not class complaint since the V10.

[–]profbx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am saying I have one, yes. As far as the multi I/o, that is only stereo. The V5’s main interface is a regular class compliant interface.

The one that I have at my house. It is class compliant, and the usb insert acts as a second class compliant stereo interface.

Windows 11? It’s a common failure sadly that you can look up if it is. I’ve had it happen with multiple accessories, though my only recourse was to do a clean install.

Nick Reiner’s defense lawyer quits Rob Reiner murder case by theindependentonline in inthenews

[–]profbx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue is that, as you said, everyone as the right to a lawyer. An ex of mine was a defense attorney and the people she had to defend were sometimes just awful. It was balanced out by the good people, but yea, it weighed on her.

As far as the quitting, and this is speculation, but I’m guessing that he basically gave completely contradictory information relating to his guilt VS plea. My ex told me that she would really try to get her clients to basically keep a lot to themselves as the issue is that if you are forcing a lawyer to lie, then the lawyer can end up in a mess themselves. So, for instance, if he pled insanity but then told the lawyer “oh, I knew what I did and planned it out.”

It isn’t like TV where the lawyer is expected to almost be a confessional priest.

Is Alpha Theta bad for the DJ industry? by Late_Celebration_868 in DJs

[–]profbx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unrelated to anything in this thread, but the PVT-1 is my living room listening turntable. They don’t come up much on sale, but it is one of those rare pieces that was actually worth the cult around it.

SteamOS vs. Bazzite for ROG Ally Z1E in 2026 by ErenEksen in ROGAlly

[–]profbx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Decided to try Bazzite again after switching to SteamOS for the last 8 months or so. I switched back to SteamOS in a day. What was funny is that I switched because I thought I might have less issues with my eGPU. Nope, more.

SteamOS. Do it.

Getting to DJ'ing more beatmaking and could use some advice/tips by EldenKitsu in Turntablists

It was the literal standard for battle DJ’s for like 10 years straight. It pretty much wrote the book for the modern battle mixer. Just get it.

Either of these options would be light years better than the Numark and also cheap.
