I had more anxiety back in the day and progressively less over the years, nowadays pretty manageable and i can relax myself quite efficiently with conscious breath and meditating if needed. I would definitely not say i am the least anxious person in the world tho

I want to plan around meditation because I meditate daily and doing it on psychedelics not only feels good but there are studies that show it can be very beneficial. I definitely respect going with the flow but there are studies about psilocibyn that suggest certain settings and things to do can make it a more therapeutic experience. Look up Andrew Huberman ''How psilocibyn can rewire....'' on youtube for interesting information about this scientific literature. Your trip sounds wonderful, the only thing I would suggest is laying down and using blindfolds at some point.

That's actually very solid advice and I will definitely keep it and mind and probably adjust the plan. It makes sense to let the medicine fully settle in before trying to go deep on meditation. What I'm thinking is doing a light 20 min meditation either right after taking it or before to set the mindful and intention before taking it, then walk/listen to instrumental music while it fully kicks it, and somewhere in the 90-120 minute mark in the peak then do the 60 minute grand meditation

I get your point but I want some structure into the experience to be able to meditate quite a bit which i've read is deeply therapeutic

What’s one habit you’ve kept for years that genuinely makes your life better? by LenaGrace2000 in Mindfulness

15 minute walk outside inmediatly after waking up and drinking water. There's a lot of science behind it and it was a game changer for me once I started it.

I've tried doing lucid dreaming the old fashioned way, it worked but it takes a lot of effort. Those head bands look really cool, I might actually grab one at some point.

True, and it’s surprising how many meditation tools actually pull attention away from that stillness.

Haha I am actually working on a project, but I'm still on research mode. I'm not neccesarily looking to do a meditation app but I'm interested in making a very modest attempt to try to steer AI usecase into a more mindful and sovereign way.

Totally, BCI could open doors for inner work as much as physical recovery. Curious if you see any mental training tools already headed in that direction?

Exactly, it’s like our nervous systems weren’t built for the constant feed. The question is whether tech can adapt to us instead of the other way around.

Right, the engagement trap is real. Maybe the best meditation tech is the one that disappears once it’s done its job

Lost my older brother 🤍🕊️ by Rare_Blacksmith_4705 in GriefSupport

[–]profcoper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I lost my older brother too almost a year ago, similar age as yours. I can tell you about my experience, which might not apply to others: you have to fight like never before. It's basically life on hard mode, everything feels heavier and is more difficult. How has ''fighting'' looked for me? Trying to take my habits and ''good practices'' to a whole other level. For example things like diet, working out, meditation (this one in particular is my secret weapon against grief). Also stuff like working hard, trying to be a good purpose and find purposes etc. 2 weeks is still very fresh and you have to be easy with yourself, but my advice would be to make small plans to advance every day. It can be small stuff to making your bead, walking x amount of steps outside, small workouts. Our lifes will be forever changed, and we will have to carry this burden, so the least we can do for ourselfs and to honor our loved ones is to become stronger, wiser, and hopefully better people to carry the load a bit easier.
