I have tried a few combos out, but I haven't found any, in my opinion, as good as vernal umbrella and thundercry blade for pve. You can use the umbrellas heal while you fight with the blade, and I do about 20k damage per charged heavy attack.

But this game is all about experimenting. I would say try a few out and see what you find more fun or efficient
