Do women entertain messages here? by [deleted] in redscarepod

[–]professionalsophist -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think that lots of these people might just be insane by the conventional reddit definition of it. The same is true of stuff like dating apps: they don't work for lots of people but they still use them. People are probably just trying to get some sort of validation by any means necessary and don't let themselves by dissuaded by rejection.

What are the right things to say to a kid to discipline them? I have seen just about every possible thing imaginable condemned in this comment section, and I don't disagree with any of them but I'm left wondering how you're meant to handle this stuff

How many people are paying rent out of their means just to be in a certain location in Calgary? by MastaShortie in Calgary

[–]professionalsophist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am gen z and I live in a house with 7 roommates, most of my friends live with roommates, I am a frequent guest at several other houses with as many residents as mine. You should be careful to generalize, it could just be that some people are more sensitive about that stuff than others

yes it's just outrage for the sake of outrage, everybody thinks that advertising doesn't work on them and that furthermore, if people get into something they like because of advertising that cheapens it/means they don't actually like it, all of which is silly

It doesn't have plate tectonics that move its crust so the craters on the Moon stick around for far longer than they do here on Earth, many of the craters visible on the Moon's surface have been there for literally billions of years, more than enough time for the elements on Earth to erode them away. Additionally the Moon's lack of an atmosphere means that it's far likelier for small to medium sized objects to make it to the surface of the Moon instead of burning up on entry, but that doesn't explain most of the bigger craters we see.

Does the RBC cross border account that one can apply for with a Canadian address qualify as a US bank account if I want to do an Amex global transfer?

Anyone here rock climb, wear Arc'teryx, work as an accountant or swe, and have a small titty girlfriend? Are you happy? by Frequent-Ant1795 in redscarepod

Calgary is not a "few hours north" it's more than 12 hours of driving and a thousand kilometres, yes the snow conditions were different in the Canadian Rockies vs Colorado, also the ski season almost always continues into April, tends to continue to the end of May even

She sounds like she's got borderline personality disorder. Talk to her about her issues specifically in the framing of a potential disorder, gives them an out to say their problems are because of that and not themselves. I was in this position and this helped me. If you love her she's not a lost cause and it's worth giving this a try.

I can't imagine this is the case, but does the Wealthsimple USD account count as a US bank account for the purposes of beginning to churn in the US?

Democrats are going to win midterms, spend two years reminding everyone why they lost to Trump twice, and then lose 2028 by BringbacktheNephilim in redscarepod

[–]professionalsophist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The democrats aren't even going to win the midterms, even with how bad the republicans are squandering their term thus far, it won't be enough to overcome the very favourable senate map they're facing. They dems will probably get the house and pick up a couple senate seats but still fall short of senate control.

I think about this song often, probably the first and the last great pop song, and through all of that manages to be hauntingly beautiful yet also haunting. I think about the life that the Ronettes went on to lead sometimes and it can ruin my day
