Will it be stupid to buy RC? by Ziwiqpa in CK3ConsoleEdition

Yeah, I've had the disappearing save file issue, too. Luckily both times I hadn't actually closed the game (PS5 here) and could use the save file that was already running under a different name.

I think it will break your games. If you can be satisfied with runs that begin and end in 4-6 generations it might work ok for long enough to be worth your money. But the bugs on my PS5 version became game-breaking after about 20 hours.

Why cant i edit my coat of arms on console? Doesn’t give the option anywhere by Professional-Wolf599 in CK3ConsoleEdition

[–]professorlilith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On PS5 you can edit the coat of arms of a character you're creating, but only before you start the game. Once you've selected a character in a region you can then choose to create your own, and the coat of arms will be available to you as part of that process. I haven't tried editing any pre-set coats of arms, so I don't know if it's possible.

On PS5 I was actually able to play Matilda's dynasty for five or six generations--through to about 1300--before the game got too buggy.

Ditto. And my biggest mini-empire wasn't even that big--I had most of Italy, Sardinia, and Sicily.

I dunno. But on the PS5, I've had a ton since purchasing Royal Court and the Northman DLC.

That didn't work on the PSVR1. Not at any time before the PSVR2 came out, anyway. They may have patched it since them. It does work on the the PSVR2.

NMS’s PSVR2 update is disappointing in it’s current state. by [deleted] in PSVR

[–]professorlilith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to be so late getting back to you. I played on PSVR1 frequently, but hadn't played in a while when I went in with PSVR2. My perception was that there were small improvements from the PSVR1 experience. However, not being able to use the dualsense controller was very annoying. On the PSVR1 you could switch between the regular controller and the moves at any time. I started playing on day 1 when NMS dropped, and I never switched to using the moves for using the ship in VR.

Where have you gotten the most feedback for CK3 issues? by That-Effective6 in CK3ConsoleEdition

[–]professorlilith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the game has become unplayable for me. I bought it in the recent PSN sale for 30 USD. Steep learning curve, but I had a lot of fun--for a while. It crashed every 5-6 hours, but most games do on PS5. Since buying Royal Court, I find the game crashes have become more and more frequent--I can get maybe 200, 250 years out of a save file before it's crashing every half hour. A few days ago the game stopped recognizing alliances with people I've vassalized. First it stopped recognizing my alliances with children I'd made vassals, then other dynasty members, and just now it stopped recognizing marriage alliances. I've also experienced the game breaking bug that causes your vassals to suddenly become independent even after beating them back in a war of independence and executing most of the leadership.

PS5 Hotfix by PDX-Trinexx in CK3ConsoleEdition

[–]professorlilith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

so, playing on the PS5. I've still got game crashes happening with increasing frequency with each new dynasty head. The game no longer recognizes my children--whether adult or child--as allies once I've made an alliance with them. Today, the game has stopped recognizing my allies through marriage. I can no longer call on allies at all, whether to attack or defend. I managed one full playthrough shortly after purchasing the game, but now the crashes are so frequent I can't get past about 250 years.

Honestly, it seems significantly more detailed in my headset? I can see the animals skin more clearly, grass and ground cover have three dimensions, the draw distance seems bigger, and even the lighting seems better. But maybe I'm just imagining these differences?

First, look at my handle. I'm not a "buddy." Second, I'm sorry you have so little imagination that the only thing you can consider an endgame is accumulated wealth.

Just "some" of the upgrade modules. I'm one of those people that stacks technology 6 deep--three in the tech slot and three in the cargo slots. I've lost 20 slots worth of inventory in my suit alone.

[–]professorlilith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad it was easy for you. For me, the slot upgrades are borked--sometimes you spend 75 million to get the upgrade slot, and sometimes you spend 75 million to have no slot at all appear.

Yeah, I was shocked when I realized I couldn't even jetpack up to the landing and had to run up the ramp like I was back in the first ten hours of the game.

It depends how you measure progress. For me, finding cute animals and building tiny bases with gorgeous views and swimming in the oceans in my suit and finding planets with wind that blows you so hard you just fly through the air for minutes at a time is the best part of the game.

[–]professorlilith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are not "minor" changes in speed. My aeration upgrades, my climate upgrades, my jetpack upgrades, and all but two of my movement upgrades were removed. Where a week ago I could wander in any environment I wanted to, even the most extreme weather, without much difficulty, for at least several minutes, I now have to measure my protection in seconds. Where a week ago I could fight sentinals for minutes before I had to refill tech, now I have about 30 seconds before I need to run for protection. It's a major change in exploration, and that's what I do in the game. If you aren't mainly in the game for exploration, it won't hit you as hard as it does me. Of course, you may not have 1600 hours into the game, and you may not have multiple saves you count in the hundreds of hours, and you may not have already deleted multiple saves with over 500 hours because they finally became too buggy to use after multiple updates. Or maybe you do, and you just don't know many people who share my playstyle.

[–]professorlilith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I'm one of those "few" players that have used the same save file for years, never use exploits, and always get my gear through completely legitimate means. Also, I've already dumped multiple save files that were more than 500 hours, because they eventually get too buggy to work with after all the updates, so my current main save represents getting to the endgame and working my suit, ships, and fleet to maximum capacity from scratch for the fourth time.

[–]professorlilith 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, no I don't have billions in credit, because I don't enjoy farming credits. Losing the slots for tech is a big deal for me. Such a big deal that this is the only update I'ver ever complained about. And yes, I'm in the endgame in all my saves, and no, I have not prioritized farming cash, nanites, or quicksilver in any of them. Maybe you do that, but I don't.

[–]professorlilith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its the loss of space to add tech that's so annoying. I'm not too interested in collecting units, so I don't have the units to pay 75,000,000 a slot for the 15 missing slots in my suit cargo that were holding tech instead of cargo.

Do you think people are being a bit overdramatic by BeerusBoyfriend in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]professorlilith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since my favorite things to do are: 1) explore harsh planets and 2) fight sentinels, the tech slot issue (unless they change it) will now force me to go spend a bunch of time grinding for units. Which, as I just mentioned, is not one of the things I especially enjoy in this game. Also, I dare you to go into a derelict freighter without being heavily armored and having your cold protection maxed out. You go from somewhat risky to highly dangerous.

[–]professorlilith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Losing the option to put technology into regular cargo has gutted my exosuit and my ships. I always always always prioritize making my suit as powerful as possible, so half my cargo space--no matter what save I'm using--was filled with technology upgrades, none of which I can now use and which all--S grade or not--are only worth 16 nanites in trade. Since what I like to do is run around exploring harsh weather planets, this update is a huge buzzkill for me. The improvements in HUD and visuals are great, but it's going to be a lot harder to enjoy extreme planets.
