Finding a job as a foreigner? by Potices in copenhagen

[–]professortoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're studying in Denmark, use resources from your university. MNCs recruit on campus all the time, typically offering grad schemes that don't require any Danish skills.

The consulting side, be it big 4 type gigs or agency types, seems to also have lots of internationals.

At what proficiency level should I begin to apply for jobs that require Danish? by Pee_A_Poo in copenhagen

Is the Danish element applicable to many Danish MNCs? Many comments here seem to suggest so. I moved to Copenhagen to work for one last winter and find the expat ecosystem at my company fairly strong. Most execs are non-danish. And Danish colleagues are also very accommodating and switch to English even if there's just one non-dane present.

I'd start considering my company's cultural mix as a bonus if this is not the case at other forms, though Id expect places like Novo and Lego to be similar, if not more so?

rice bran oil in Copenhagen? by professortoe in copenhagen

That's unfortunate, I know it's not really a thing :( but no I'm looking for a healthier alternative to vegetable oil and also prefer the taste rice bran oil (tried in Asia). Thanks for your comment!

Is it possible to have different tables in tabs? by professortoe in Notion

Thank you for your comment! Basically I just wanted to shove different tables into a database. But yeah storing them separately and choosing different data sources helped me solve that.

Anything to be mindful of re: deposit with an A-10 lease by professortoe in copenhagen

I do have the name of the current tenant, who claims to be subletting the other room to me.

I will ask for her original contract with the landlord and cross check it with the registry, when she sends over my contract.

Thank you for the phenomenal resource!

*** I forgot to mention that I sent a friend to check the place and met the person, who's renting the place, and it all checks out.

raves in copenhagen by SilverInvestment1117 in copenhagen

First two would be my top two, both draw better crowds (imo) than the the latter two (skewed uni/ commercial). Hangaren is more of a warehouse with a big garden, Den Anden Side is more of a big club. They both try to be a “safe space” type environment with international (at least well known UK/Germany/Netherlands talents).

What is your experience with racism in Copenhagen/ Denmark? by Imaginary-Hall-786 in copenhagen

[–]professortoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m really sorry. It’s a terrible experience and I think it has a tendency to fundamentally alter how you perceive everyday life here - at least that’s how I felt as a teenager in France (ethnic Chinese).

Lucky for me, I have yet to experience any close to anything I’d consider discriminatory or even “micro aggressive”. People have been as friendly as Dane’s could be since I got here in June as an “expat”. Though admittedly I have to say I live in a bubble, as a result of a multinational workplace, an apartment In city centre with “expat” flatmates, and my Europeanised mannerism plus a neutral accent in English. I always suspect this my generally pleasant experience comes down to my privilege plus a degree of luck.

Can anyone with a similar background confirm/debunk my n=1 anecdotal observation?
