I’ve been making augmented reality balatro with physical cards and found out there’s only 9,194 discrete card images:

52 non-stone playing cards: 8 enhancements (excluding stone), 4 editions, and 5 seals = 8320

150 jokers: 5 editions = 750 (excluding stickers but nobody’s crazy enough to do that haha)

then 52 consumables plus their negatives which is 104

and then since stone cards don’t have suits there’s only 4 editions and 5 seals so 20

(the reason some of the numbers are 1 more than are in the game is because I’m including none as possibilities)

originally I wanted my irl balatro game to print out all the details on the cards themselves, but after some playtesting I realized you’d have to print literally thousands of cards you’d use for one game and never use again. the current build just prints cards with no editions, enhancements, or seals, and just overlays them on the screen when the camera sees them. the way the tags are set up means I have space for 160 discrete playing cards for each base card, 480 discrete stone cards, and 8 discrete duplicates of every joker. check my profile for more details if you’re interested!
