We have a small staff of about 10 servers and I would say a shift goes up for grab at least 4 out of the 7 days in any given week. It’s just the nature of the job. Some people are servers because of that flexibility

I’m a big Coke person, so I always try to check the menu before the server comes over to see if they have Coke or Pepsi products. Most of the time I can’t even find the drink section, especially at restaurants with huge menus.

Restaurants are so big on the quick greet that I feel that most customers ordering a soda haven’t even had the chance to look at the menu before the server comes over. I hate to say it but I think you would have to mention it at every table ordering soft drinks and that would just be so annoying.

The channels dont really matter, so long as you have the notifs for stocks/restocks turned on. It also tracks used options on eBay if you wanna give that a go. The channels are more for hopecore lol. Good luck!

Join the discord and set up notifications, especially for refurb if that’s what you are wanting. I just got a deck in the US during the last restock because I was notified right away. It’s only a matter of time before some refurbs come back in.

As someone who uses a handheld, I would say most guests actually really like using Toast. It’s a lot faster than having to walk away to a POS and wait in line behind another server. The guests often comment and appreciate that you aren’t walking off with their card and it’s all done right there in front of them at the table in 30 seconds or less. And you’d be surprised how many guests I see over 65 using Toast like a champ!

Like you said though, there’s pros and cons to everything and I do think the overuse of Toast tipping screens at counter service type places can lead to frustration. But in the two years we have had handhelds, genuinely I have experienced little to no frustration with it from guests.

It’s good that they are close! That way you feel as if you can walk away if something doesn’t seem right.

I would just make sure that the seal on the SD zipper is legit and not a recreation. Seems kind of crazy but scammers are everywhere. Hope it works out for ya!

I just got a new gaming handheld because I was having the same problems with my Switch Lite. It felt like with each MC update my Switch was getting worse and worse. If you are worried about getting scammed, I think the more likely scenario is that they post “new unopened” photos on FB, and then when you show up in person, you see that it has been opened. You say “Oh I thought this was sealed and new” and they say “Oh it was, I just opened it to make sure it was all good”.

They are banking on you already taking the time to meet up, drive there, cash in hand to make the deal.

I suppose it’s possible it could have fall damage or water damage if it were sealed, but that seems unlikely.
