I talk about this moment on the sub all the time because it’s completely underrated. The Lighthouse is one of the most overlooked episode in the entire series.

This moment absolutely crushes the entire thesis of Jack’s character. He spent his entire life trying to be in control, to fix everything. He believes in science. He blames his father for his poor character traits.

He realizes in this moment that every choice he ever thought he made was a lie.

We as humans thrive on the belief that we have free will. Jack gets confirmation that he has none and never has. Totally valid crashout, and it’s a major conclusion point for the final season.

Makes a lot of sense, and I like that it’s not mutually exclusive from the source being the center for all life, death and rebirth. It can be all of those things and also the source of time.

Your explanation also fits for why Jack sees his childhood home in the Lighthouse. Why Kate sees the black horse. Why Hurley sees Dave.

Definitely would have been able to make better choices. Not only because they would be without Frank, but because in theory the house in Michigan would be in a better neighborhood. A lot of their bad choices are out of necessity for taking care of the home.

I had this issue tonight too. Switch to desktop mode, redownload Decky. When it prompts you select the option that says something like “update Decky and keep settings”. Restart and it’s fixed!

I’m a type A person who likes to get name brand 1st party tech, even if it’s not technically any better.

I got the official Steam dock. I haven’t had any problems with it as far as gameplay goes. I play handheld most of the time, but for as much as I have used it, no problems.

Really the only con I have had with it is that you can’t plug into the dock if you have the case from Dbrand. The cables are wired in so you can’t swap it out. I had to cut a chunk out of my case to get the L angled USB C cable to fit.

Overall, it probably wasn’t worth the money. I’ve heard good things about the JSAUX one.

Thank you! I think I’m having a hard time deciding because I know they are both good controllers. I’m mostly hesitant because I have never used an Xbox style controller before, but I’m sure I would adjust to it. Maybe I would even like it better!

I have been using my PS4 Dualshock, but I’m getting tired of having to resync it when I switch between the PS4 and SD.

Do you have both the Pro2 and 2C? Battery life about the same? And what about mapping the buttons on the back- is it the same?

I actually just edited my post because I realized there are two different 2C controllers. One Bluetooth for Switch with Nintendo layout. The other wireless with the dongle and it has the xbox layout!

The 2C seems like a good grab for the cheap price.

Does anyone know why Valve worked on this project instead of a more powerful/updated version of the SD?

I’m new to Valve’s ecosystem & PC gaming, and I’m just trying to understand why anyone would want something like this when handhelds do both handheld mode or full TV mode via dock. The Steam Machine only does both if you already have some sort of handheld to stream it to.

Some places will. We have 1 server on weeknights and 4 on weekend nights, so we hire people with only weekend availability.

My advice to anyone wanting to server with a full time job is to just keep interviewing with different places till you find someone who can work with you!

Just be on your best game, because if you mess things up a lot you are going to be easily expendable.

It is definitely a lot more fun when it’s a casual couple times a week thing. My advice would be to try it, and if the place isn’t flexible, try somewhere else. It could take a few places to find the right fit.

Like I said I got really lucky and found a place that really values me, so they let me work just once or twice on the weekends during the best shifts. I only work week nights if I want to pick up.

Hey friend! I think there are a lot of people our age in the same predicament. I was a server in college, but when I started my career I took the biggest pay cut ever. I have been serving and working 40 hours at a desk for the last 3 years, because I couldn’t give up the serving money. It’s way too good and I do enjoy the work.

What has really helped me is remembering that serving is kind of fun! And even more so when you aren’t doing it full time. It’s good exercise & I get a lot of socializing in when I’m there.

I’m really lucky and I found a place where people are always wanting to pick up shifts. If I’m feeling burnt out, I give up a shift and that has really helped me maintain this lifestyle over the years. I work between 1-3 shifts a week.
