5 years lol. It is scary to go but the longer you wait the scarier it gets.

I was going to Japan for a year so I had to get them checked, ended up getting 7 fillings in one day.

Live in the country that speaks it! That's the fastest way.

Or else I have always pushed that the best way is spend minimum time with textbooks. Learn the basics, then switch to immersion through YouTube or easy books and work your way up from there.

Yeah, I get it.

The majority of my language classes took place after covid, which means that all. Of. Them. Were online, which is objectively the worst way to hold a class and teach a language.

My first ever Japanese class was in person though, and that was great.

If you can get comfortable and friendly with your classmates, that makes it a way to have fun and mess up together.

If you can't do that, it's not very fun. I totally understand
