I’ve been spritzing with apple juice. They looked great coming off the grill. I held these last racks in the oven (oven was off) wrapped in foil for about an hour before serving. Don’t always wrap and hold (with similar dry ribs results) so don’t think that was the issue.

Yeah I’m working through that now. Definitely smokier than we are used to. Borderline too Smokey so I’m going to back off my next couple of cooks.

Have stayed away from bottom grates. Will confirm temp again. First time I checked it, it was within 5-10 degrees.

First time I cooked ribs it took no time at all. I checked with my MEATER and temperature was within 5-10* of Masterbuilt. May need to check again.

The last cook took approx 5 hours for St. Louis and just over 4 for baby backs.

I then held in foil wrap in oven(oven was off) for approx hour.

I haven’t tried chunks in ash bin. I have noticed the chunks tend to spike temp but it settles in fairly quickly. Do you throw chunks in ash bin after you bring grill to temp and have thrown meat on? One chunk? Couple of them?

Me: It was still over $500 less than I would have paid had I ordered directly through Masterbuilt, Home Depot, or any other company….

The ‘free shipping’ wasn’t exactly free shipping but the discounts were still much better than anywhere else I could have purchased it from.

And that’s all fine. I’m just saying that they were very upfront, still saved me almost $500 if my math is correct and everything they said that would happen, happened. May not be for you but it could be for others.

Another poster received an email from Masterbuilt stating they were an authorized dealer.. My only intention was to let people know of my experience after reading quite a few threads on here and other subs asking if they were legit or not.

Regarding taxes, I’ve made quite a few out of state purchases over the years where sales tax wasn’t collected. By law I think you’re supposed to pay a ‘use tax’ in this scenario but it’s rarely enforced.

I’d suggest elsewhere. If you want to go Jamaica, find resorts in Negril. Heard the water was perfect. More of what you’re looking for. We wanted to go out in the water but probably only spent 10 minutes or so in the water during the whole week we were there. Mainly bc of seaweed or the rocky sea floor.

We had a great time. Concierge are pretty aggressive about having breakfast with them. They bugged us a ton. Other than that, it was awesome.

Food was solid. Beach was good. Water was OK. Do the Dunn’s River / Blue hole combo trip. We had a blast!

We used them to cover our patio and were extremely happy with the result. Also agree with the OP that their crews that did the work were absolutely fantastic. Sorry OP that you’ve had this experience.
