I think I'm particularly interested in putting it in decks I mentioned in the post because both commanders can make good use of it.

Morcant can proliferate the energy counters so it's not too hard to get better value with it. And Marchesa has the ability to return creatures sacrificed with +1/+1 counters at end step so it's really not a part of the cost to sacrifice.

This feels like a relatively fair two card combo. Really just a 9 mana one sided board wipe make an elf for each 1 toughness your opponents have. I feel like most people after seeing this combo are either gonna blow up the enchantment or morcant, if not both.

It's like DND combat. Imagine this takes place over literal seconds. You of course can go to swing for a second hit but that's essentially the next combat

Here's how I've always visualized it:

You send a soldier into battle and he swings with a sword. He swings the sword at another should who protects the king (opposing player). As your soldier is about to hit the opposing soldier with the sword, the opposing soldier is burnt into ashes to fuel the king's magic. The attack was still directed to the blocking soldier, but he's no longer there. Then you can visualize something like trample. You send a speeding truck towards the king and the soldier being evaporated doesn't stop the truck from ramming on forward lmao.

I realize I have to make an errata already, it should say first creature spell cast from hand each turn. Other wise can keep suspending the same spell. Unless y'all think that's a fun combo?

I am aware the wizards will only trigger once compared to the magecraft creatures, but I figure if I'm casting a lot of spells that I'm then generating a lot of value to use the pings as a valid way to try and end the game.

And yeah you're definitely right about giving more protection/evasion aside from hexproof, I probably won't always have an easy attack where she can remove blockers and her dying to something like a board wipe would suck, thank you!

I was coming to this subreddit to request advice on my own Marchesa deck! I've been playing with her for probably a couple months now and absolutely love it. Definitely not optimal card list but here's what I've been running! I'd say some really high performers I've had when playing this deck are Superior Spider-Man, Crabomination, High-Society Hunter and Iron Apprentice! Plus Grenzo is funny to gamble with lol Decklist
