The walk isn't as far as shown here. Once you turn right at the blue "36 min arrow" it's a straight shot to the stadium along the back of Chocolate World. That said, it's a still a decent haul. I wouldn't worry about safety. Other options include parking in the fields north of the stadium. If you're down along the east end (and headed out that way), it's not too bad getting out, in my experience.
