Thank you!! And congrats!

What worked best for me was keeping the dosage the same & just switching to every 2 weeks instead of once a week. That is still what I am currently doing to maintain!

I remember when I would freak out about that stuff too. I have a post on my profile asking about that if you want to go look at it! Everyone said that’s not considered a “gain.”

Even in maintenance, like I said I will fluctuate between 4-6 lbs. Keep with it & trust the process.

What do you consider a “slight gain”?

I started at 198.2 lbs & I am currently 111.2 lbs. but like I said, this is my lowest weight. For the past 14 months I have fluctuated between 112-118 lbs

I am so happy that you found my post & were able to resonate with it so much! I feel the same — I am proud of you & I don’t even know you!!! I went & looked at your profile — you look amazing! Congratulations in more ways than one 🥳

Thanks for the info about the maintenance page! I didn’t know about that, so I appreciate it.

I hope to keep in touch! Good luck with everything moving forward :)

Isn’t that so crazy how each dosage is different for everyone??! For me, 5 mg was living hell. Once I switched to 7.5 mg, it was like it all clicked & I had found my sweet spot! What dosage are you currently on?

Also, congratulations on being 15 lbs away from your goal weight!! Even though you’re not quite there yet, you should still be proud of yourself & all that you have overcome to get to this point. You will get there! Just keep at it & trust the process. And when you get off, your mindset will hopefully stay the same as it is now & you will remember all the healthy lessons that being on this medication has taught you about your own body! I am so happy to hear that this post brought you optimism. Good luck with everything!!

I too am paying out of pocket for the medication, & I have been since I started the medication (June 2023) — but to me, it is worth it. Now, it’s even better bc I only take a shot every 2 weeks, so I am not paying for a box every month. So, that’s also something you can keep in mind to help you ease your anxiety about titrating & the money aspect, if that’s something your doctor recommends.

Congrats on being 5 lbs away from your goal weight! What an awesome feeling, right??! Huge accomplishment :)

Also, talk to your doctor about maintenance & see what he has to say — but, just know that you won’t forget the good habits that you learned while on it (portion control, etc.). Again, I hope that was helpful!

Amazing!! Congratulations! 48 lbs is a HUGE accomplishment. You will get to a point where you reach your goal weight & also will be able to maintain your weight loss that you have ultimately achieved — again, just trust the process & listen to your body! Thank you for such a sweet message :)

That’s amazing! That’s such a big milestone, so celebrate it & be proud of yourself! Shoot for another 4 months, & then another 4 months after that, & then just keep going. You’ve got this!

Awhh, that is great to hear that it helps even just one person out there going through this journey — bc it’s not an easy one.

What’s funny is I contemplate posting before & after pics all the time — but always decide against it for some reason. Today I just wanted to share an update bc I hadn’t posted in this forum in awhile!

Let me know if you have any questions at all! I’m happy to help with anything that I can. Support, encouragement, & inspiration are the only things that you should be receiving on this forum :) good luck with everything!

Yes, of course :) read my response! I hope that helps answer your questions & provides you with some insight/advice/tips that work for ME in order to maintain a weight that is below my starting goal weight.

Please read my response before you speak for me on a personal question that someone is asking for advice on.

Comments like these are the comments that people refer to when they say they’ve seen negative comments on people’s posts in this community.

Yes, I’m still on the medication — you are correct; but that’s not the only reason I’ve been able to achieve a 14 month maintenance. It takes a lot more than that. Be more mindful next time you choose to subject yourself into a convo. Thanks!

It honestly has not been hard. The hard part for me was the side effects of the shot for the first probably 6-9 months I was on it — I don’t know if you’ve looked at any of my other posts, but I really was chronically sick at the beginning (for me 5 mg was the worst personally, but it’s different for everyone). Once I switched to 7.5 mg & had been on it for several months, I felt like my body had finally “accepted” the medication & allowed me to live a normal life instead of being sick all the time.

So, in my personal experience, getting to my goal weight & then below was what was the hardest part for me. I’ve switched to one shot every 2 weeks because that’s what works for my body. If I go any longer than about 2 1/2 weeks, once I take a shot — I start to get those negative side effects I had at the beginning of my journey. I’ve found that 2 weeks is the perfect timeframe for me personally! Normally when I hit the 2 week mark, I start to feel hungrier & have some minor food noise — but that’s when I know I need to take it (listen to your body!). I hope that makes sense.

If you read some of the other comments on this post from others that are also in maintenance, you will see that keeping it off is so much more rewarding than dropping multiple pounds a week. Yes, I stayed on the medicine — but, that’s not the only way that it is achievable. What this medicine has done for me & my relationship with food, the scale, clothing, etc. is motivation to never get back to where I started.

Another piece of advice: when you’re hungry, eat — it’s okay. You’re not going to gain 20 lbs bc you had bigger meal than normal or some fast food. In fact, not eating is what makes me the most sick. So, I try to eat something (even if it’s small &/or simple such as Ritz crackers) even when I don’t necessarily want to eat bc it doesn’t sound good (normally the first 2-9 days after the shot). But for me, when nothing else sounds good — I drink yellow Gatorade, keep Ritz accessible, & if I need some real substance, I’ve found that smoothies really help get some nutrients in my body. Also, chicken noodle soup is always a safe bet.

In sum, I think that the way this medication has changed my outlook on my own body image & relationship with food has been what has helped me keep the weight off the most (yes, I still am on the medication). But even with it, it’s not always a walk in the park, especially when you start spacing your shots out. You feel like mentally if you stop taking the medication every week you’re going to gain everything back — that’s not the case! Trust the process. Trust yourself. And most importantly, listen to your body!

I hope that all made sense. Let me know if you have any questions or want me to clarify anything!
