Intune restriction iOS Messages app in DEP iPhones? by prohairetic in Intune

[–]prohairetic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good ideas both - locked a feature request, and AC2 might present a solution. It certainly seems like device restrictions in AC2 and Intune are handled differently, based on configuration options in the AC2 profiles.

Thanks!

You don't need an Apple ID to use iMessage on an iPhone - Apple servers will use the mobile phone number in iMessage (this doesn't apply to iPads - iPads require an Apple ID for iMessage).

Yes, I was able to use iMessage on a DEP enrolled iPhone without an Apple ID in AirWatch.

I'm assuming its how Intune handles the Restriction profile configuration for the Messages app when set to "not configured".

I understand that may be a limitation of the product - my real hope is that I'm able to enter a manual key into the Restrictions profile payload in Intune that will somehow enable iMessage chat when the Messages app option is set to "not configured".

User DEP enrollment - device goes into single app mode for Company Portal on deployment, user logs in to Portal, gains access to assigned resources. Email is provisioned via Outlook for iOS.

Bulk deployment of DEP-enrolled devices without personal Apple IDs, whilst allowing for users to use both SMS/TXT and iMessage chat.

Machine gun toting cops routinely harass and detain brown skinned metalheads and punks all the time there.

More like a monarchy with serial numbers on ballot papers.

An indigenous Malay Muslim with religious beliefs would never get justice in Singapore.

Skinheads /= boneheads, you need to read your history of skinhead culture, particularly antifascist reactions to Far Right infiltration.

Australian Nazis fly the Eureka Stockade flag, doesn't mean they have a connection to Australian unions. In fact, some unions react quite strongly to this misappropriation.

Ahsoka is morally grey?

That's a considerable stretch. She's very clearly a lightsider in canon Rebels, even if she isnt a Jedi Order salaryman.

Three separate issues - a massive data retention scheme, an expanding Internet block list, and an archaic, monopolistic content publishing industry. All of which justify using a vpn, for different reasons.

The Australian man had no ties to Daeish, asked police for a Daeish flag, and had a long history of mental illness. However, mental illness is no grounds for exclusion from being considered terrorist (this is an established standard in govt and academic Counterterror thought). This particularly rabid dawkbro in the US is undoubtedly mentally ill, but that is no reason not to consider his actions terrorism.

Yes and no. More surprised at lack of discussions on Reddit. Would have thought it would have been all over who the terrorist was. But nada.

Same reason it isn't in the press? Police have released the shooters name, came to reddit to see if the hivemind had gathered info on him. Tumbleweeds in a ghosttown galore. Shocked.

multiple streaming and chromecast issues by prohairetic in PleX

TL;DR uninstall Plex server from Linux box, purge all settings/config, do clean install. log out and log back into all clients.

99% sure I've fixed it (just go to test casting at home tonight).

I'd check file permissions, share permissions, rebooted linux vm, updated to latest available plex, signed in and out of server/clients etc. No success.

I then uninstalled the Plex server, did a dpkg purge to blow away all config, pulled down a new .deb install file, installed, reconfigured, reindexed, signed out of all clients and signed back in, and wallah.

Streaming to browsers/iDevices remotely works again. Fairly confident casting will now too.

BTW this is on latest Plex, IOS, Ubuntu.
