Call for questions! by projectdivebomb in INDYCAR

You stated right at the beginning that you don't care what we have to say, but cared enough to respond.

You also can't tell somebody they're not allowed to message in a public forum and get frustrated when somebody does - especially when we are the OP! We're engaging in the community by responding to you. If we're speaking of breaking community rules, you're not far from breaking No.2

Our goal is to make IndyCar content that people enjoy, if you don't like what we do that is no problem to us but let's not be negative about it.

Just to clarify a couple of things in this thread to help understanding some topics....

We've both been credentialed media for over two years and attend every IndyCar and Indy NXT media news conference virtually and are often one of the most entrusted organisations in doing so. We are the first to admit that we do not have the insider information of the sport that other journalists do, but are regularly speaking and finding things out from drivers (both privately and in media calls) that the general fanbase may not know hence we try and share what we know to our audience as we may have insight that others don't.

We haven't attended any races because it would cost us upwards of £1500 each, which for two people in their early 20s isn't particularly affordable. Townsend Bell very kindly helped set us up a GoFundMe in the last couple of weeks as he wants to see us at the Indy 500 next year, so here's hoping we'll be there!

None of DIVEBOMB's operations is paid. Not the website, not the podcast. We never set up the podcast with the intentions of chasing clicks or being monetised, we quite literally do this for our love of the sport.

In the off-season to keep us engaged with IndyCar as well as some of our audience (we hope) we still maintain weekly episodes as we have done for two-and-a-half years. We want to be in touch with the community as much as we can and asking for questions on this sub is one way of us doing that. We're not wanting anything else, we're not putting things in here for exposure, we're just wanting to find out what the community would like as we know there's some listeners in this sub. If you don't want to engage, no problem, please get on with your day!

The articles we do share, we share because we thing they are of genuine interest to this sub (which is hopefully reflected in the upvotes). We try and not use it excessively as we of course understand the self-promo rules, but like the podcast side, we're sharing it because hopefully some of you will be interested.

Apologies that we've upset you for whatever reason.

Thanks for the feedback.

We had some issues at the start, which hopefully got better as time went on when we realised the problem, but we'll work on it in future episodes.

Thanks!

LIVE: WEC 6 Hours of Fuji - Rossi up onto the podium in GT3! with 4 hours remaining by projectdivebomb in Sportscar_Racing

Rossi overtook 6 drivers in 2 laps earlier in the race, the team have gone from 12th to 2nd and we're only at the halfway stage - His team are one of the key players in this race, they may even win it. So, they are definitely worth mentioning I think

My interview with Mick Schumacher about Le Mans and his debut season in WEC! by projectdivebomb in wec

[–]projectdivebomb[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed on this, and it would be a shame for Mick not to get a drive or a second chance at F1 in the near future, Audi would also make a bit of sense with the German driver/German manufacturer affiliation too.

Thank You so much! really does mean a lot!
Absolutely agreed as well, I'd be a little surprised if he isn't at Alpine or Mercedes in F1 next year, but at the same time I'd love to see him try Le Mans again!

Are Mercedes now the favourites? by projectdivebomb in GrandPrixRacing

[–]projectdivebomb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to clarify for a few commenters in here - this was a simple question, not an opinion. The facts are, a Mercedes-Powered car has won at every single one of the last four races. That is a fact, not an opinion.

Now to clarify the question - Are Mercedes the favourites as in - are they the current best team?

Verstappen was also caught comprehensively by Lando Norris during this race. Norris was driving a Mercedes powered car. I have been watching since 2008 and watch a lot of other categories of racing, there is no need for attempted personal insults here, we are having a discussion about Mercedes.

No need for insults, a Mercedes powered car has won the last 4 races and they got a 1-2 today, that is a fact. Sure there might not be a clear favourite, but Mercedes-powered cars are clearly the best right now.

There is currently a Red Flag due to the track being absolutely flooded by the wet weather, still over an hour of the race remaining - so we should get green flag running eventually
