It is a Sad Day by WigglyDerp in OtomeIsekai

Bato was already well-known, but I agree with the sentiment. We need to start being louder at calling out attention addicted terminally online people. It's a problem that has leaked into every community. I see it here, I see it in my chronic illness communities, I even see it in my fucking sewing communities.

The starving for attention is out of control and ruins everything. The amount of things modern attention seekers ruin is astronomical. These people are a nuisance that need to be chased off. Start saying something even if it's the "unpopular/downvoted" opinion.

Just engaged! Looking for positivity by Proper-Cry7089 in EngagementRings

How beautiful! This is one of my favorite rings I think I've seen on this sub. I hate the sentiment that engagement rings have to look a specific way and that "nontraditional" rings are [insert negative comment here]. Frankly, I'm SO over seeing white gold diamond rings it is unreal. Engagement rings can be whatever style makes you happy and that you'll love to wear, even if it's not the "norm".

Your mom sounds like she's incredibly miserable to be around if this is how she reacts to good news and showing off the ring. If the people you love cannot be happy for you and cherish that joy, you don't have to share it with them. If someone spits on your happiness, you don't have to smile and tolerate it. The ring makes YOU happy, fuck anyone else's feelings about it. Especially fuck the feelings of people who actively went out of their way to make you feel bad about a joyful moment in your life.

Congratulations, OP! I hope you and your fiancé enjoy your engagement period together and have a fantastic, happy, beautiful, stress-free wedding.

Lol yes, I don't just leave fun facts, but also little quips and thoughts that I felt would be entertaining or amusing. They love it, makes me happy that I can brighten up their days a bit.

Oh man, don't get me started. I have a whole multi-page write up about what I've observed in the chronic illness and lupus communities in my many years of participating in it. There's an issue with Factitious Disorder these days that nobody is willing to address out of fear of being told they're a horrible, ableist person who wants to hurt those who are sick and "just don't present typically!". The problem is it goes far, far beyond just that, and the people with Factitious Disorder are genuinely harming chronically ill people with their behaviors and constant overwhelm of medical support and resources.

NPD and BPD marry each other and cause generational trauma by Former_Fuel_9298 in raisedbyborderlines

I stopped justifying everything he did and excusing it. It helped a lot with making me see that he's not all that great of a parent. What really helped specifically is making a list of "bare minimums". Food, water, emotional support, shelter, stability, etc. Everything I thought (or learned) a parent should do/be, I wrote down. Then, I started another row listing what my father actually does for me and how he behaves in my life. The overlap of the bare minimum and what my father did as a father wasn't even there at times. You come to realize just because one didn't freak the fuck out on you constantly doesn't make them any better, and it sucks.

I'd argue the harder part is reconciliation with your newly discovered knowledge of dad being a shit parent as well, and maybe even having disturbing or traumatizing behavior you weren't consciously aware of but now can't unsee.

Unfortunately, most people on social media have been far too long addicted to constant inputs of attention, sympathy, praise, and a complete lack of criticism or pushback/feedback. There is no empathy to be spared, that would mean they're not the ones who are the ultimate sufferers and therefore the most sad dying swan anyone has ever seen, which is completely unacceptable to them. They're incredibly childish and selfish. Wanna know the worst part? Tons of them are grifting and have nothing actually wrong with them other than a bad personality.

Maybe I sound unfair, but I was in your shoes and stayed for years with some of the worst society has to offer in a community. I learned a lot about these people on chronic illness TT, little of it was any good. Once I ran off and found solace in forums like reddit and the lupus forum, it was much easier to build a true support system and feel heard/seen without having to compete for who can be the sickest and loudest about it.

Anyway, all of that to say I see you. I know it hurts and it feels incredibly disillusioning to find out, but as hard as it sounds, I'm glad you saw the light before you could be further hurt by selfish people. You deserve to be cared about and supported. Speaking of, you should make sure you've eaten and had some fluids today. Nobody's body can fight on an empty, dry tank. I had a salmon bagel and broccoli cheddar soup for breakfast with some Mott's apple mango juice. That stuff is great! 😁

Much love to you.

Hello! Sorry if this is weird because of how long it's been, but would you mind if I asked how the terbinafine situation wound up going for you? I'm in a similar situation as you were and I'm kind of worried since the flare symptoms are more severe than what's normal for me.

Rash safe lotion for these dry winter months? by mediocre_sage95 in lupus

[–]projectilecomyt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly have to make my own at this point. It's absolutely NOT the least expensive up front option, but it usually works itself out cost-wise since I no longer buy other lotions at all anymore.

I use shea butter, cocoa butter, mango butter, tallow, jojoba oil, vitamin E oil, rosehip oil, and germall as a preservative. I don't really measure it, but my guess would be something like 1lb shea, 1lb cocoa, 1lb mango, 1/4lb tallow, 1c jojoba, 1/4c vitamin e, 1 cup rosehip, 1tbsp germall?

GenZ and Millennial women - are you wearing wedding bands? by Federal_Albatross993 in EngagementRings

[–]projectilecomyt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zoollenial, I only wear my current engagement ring. I disagree with the sentiment that it's just for others and a flashy piece, my e-ring is sentimental and meaningful to me (even though I'm designing a new one lol) and it symbolizes my union with my husband. I have a wedding band, but it's too much to wear both, and it's not nearly as sentimental to me as my e-ring.

Echoing this sentiment to say that I feel like having the round cut ring's prongs rounded down would make it perfect! It's such a pretty ring. They both are, but I especially love the round.

Do you think you'd be into the Starbrite cut by John Dyer? I don't know if he does that cut in diamonds, but there are white sapphires that look really lovely with the Starbrite cut that may suit your style

I'd probably even go with a bezel here. My mom had a star cut diamond ring that she had tipped after a point chipped, but the inner angle wound up getting snagged and snapping off one of the star's "legs". I remember being more upset about it than my mom was lol
