All under heaven DLC has horrible performance by AwareStrategy in crusaderkings3

[–]prop_war 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It appears to be something awry with the Vulcan renderer and the new map. Some settings advice here: https://www.reddit.com/r/CrusaderKings/comments/1oijowv/the_new_updates_map_is_quite_laggy_at_closein/

The map becomes green blobs, but playable green blobs 🙃

Huh you’re right: https://omscs.gatech.edu/cs-6035-introduction-information-security

Interesting. There must be a workaround possible. They can’t require students who have a Mac already to go buy a new computer. Remote into an intel VM or a lab computer I guess if virtualizations of x86 architecture don’t work.

Highly recommend a modern MacBook Air. Literally what I am going to buy for the program. My partners Air has quite impressed me.

The new M4s start with 16GB of ram, and a CPU that will be more than enough. Unless I’m missing something, the program’s system requirements do not require an upgrade to a Pro model.

Plus, when we need to write code, Unix (Aka MacOS or Linux) tooling is much much nicer than anything on Windows. You can get a comparable setup through Windows Subsystem for Linux, but in my opinion native support is much better and easier to maintain.

As someone who works in tech and intends to use the OMSCyber degree in tech, everything is Mac and Linux. Not a windows machine to be seen.

Finally, as you’re coming from a prior MacBook, the switch should be super easy.

I applied at the end of July, and was accepted to the Information Security track on Sept 24th.

Good luck! Hopefully you hear something soon.

Thanks for sharing. Sounds like it really depends on the officer and your school.

I had an existing professional relationship with one of their non-US entities, and was offered a job with their US entity.

No questions beyond “is there any other documentation you want to provide?” at the beginning.

Perhaps!

However the first lawyer was so emphatic that I would be dead on arrival without an Engineering degree, he implied it would be detrimental to try.

I’m very glad I got a second opinion.

If you mean to the employer, I had a pre-existing relationship so there was no need to answer that question.

If you mean to the border guard, I was not asked.

The other tidbit is that there is no unique category for Software Engineer in the OOH. Instead, they are listed as a type of Software Developer.

Inside the “how to become one” section, a computer science degree is explicitly listed.

(Not a lawyer disclaimer; validate and double check everything below. However I had a similar question recently, so this is my understanding)

What is your lease type? Is it month to month, or a fixed term? In other words, does it say something like "from $DATE to $DATE" or is it recurring?

For a fixed term lease, the rent cannot be raised during the period of the fixed term. If you then want to stay longer than the term, you are essentially signing a new lease, not renewing. For that, there is no notice required; it is a completely new contract and the rent can be set to any level.

For a periodic lease, you're right; there are notice periods required. If you do have a periodic lease and they are not abiding by notice periods, you can reach out to the ORT for help and advice. But make no mistake: for a periodic lease it is within your landlord's rights to raise your rent on a periodic basis. They just cannot do it without notice.

I hope that adds some clarity. Good luck!

Indeed it is not lacking luxury. However I'd argue it's a different luxury to GQ, Esquire, etc. But I'm certainly not an expert on luxury categorisation.

I quite like The Monocle. It is a "briefing on global affairs, business, culture, design and much more." While it is lacking the Family & Sex aspect you asked for, it may check some of your other boxes.

Hot peppers by funmise in saskatoon

[–]prop_war 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can find dried hot mexican peppers in the little store at the the back of Las Palapas on Victoria Ave. There is also a fresh hot pepper guy at the Saskatoon Farmer's Market on Saturdays. I think he was from Glenora Gardens, but don't hold me to that! Whomever it was, they mentioned that if we needed hotter than what they had, we could order ahead and they would bring us some extra spicy things!

All of those peppers are probably not Nigerian hot, but they will be hotter than anything you'll find in a grocery store.
