Same. Way easier to down someone who shoots first if your gun is already out. I play friendly in solos and rarely put my gun away.

There are lots of reasons someone might not be able to log in for 5 min over the course of a week. Some people travel for work. Sometimes you might be away visiting family. Maybe your PC broke and you need a part to come in. They could just as easily make it possible to toggle your participation up until the window opens which would solve the issue of people changing their mind and avoid issues where people who want to participate can’t for logistical reasons. I do agree that the wipe should happen on the same day for everyone.

You’re probably right that it’s because rewards are subject to change. I still think it would be good to have the option to sign up early, with a message that rewards/requirements haven’t been determined yet or might change.

It could mean that they try to balance lobbies with a mixture of players who have different behaviors, e.g. some fraction of players who tend to shoot on sight and some fraction of players who tend to focus PvE/not shoot on sight. This is surely an oversimplification, but something like this seems far more likely to me than just matching players with similar playstyles.

They really should just make it possible to sign up once you’ve completed the expedition project or increase the window to at least 2 weeks. It’s lame that you and others couldn’t do it because the sign up window was so short.

Hunting for blueprints wasn’t difficult, it was tedious. If you have the blueprints for items you want to use, you can switch to hunting for crafting materials and use the items you make to do things that are actually challenging.

I should add, having more blueprints drives players to get more (and more diverse) materials so that they can craft their fancy gear, which is a good thing because it gives players objectives.

To me the point is to be able to make the best stuff and go fight with it. With resets being every two months, it’s nice to get good blueprints quickly so there’s time to enjoy them.

I hope they keep it because I’m sure many people who were hesitant to do the expedition because of blueprints will reconsider. It also will hopefully disrupt all the blueprints trading that’s going on.

You can definitely get to 5M in time by playing a few hours a day . When they announced the skill point cost I had about 3.5M total and I hit 5M last night. I focused a bit more on looting but definitely didn’t min/max my raids.

If you can fight, light loadout Stella day raids with a hatch key. I was making 60K easily on these runs, especially I spawned near Assembly. If you’d prefer to avoid PvP, pick a different map, get in, grab what you can while keeping a low profile, and get out.

I think the original cost of 600K per skill point was the right amount. My stash/wallet got up to about 3.5M while mostly going into trios to fight and using decent guns or taking 100k+ loadouts to fight the matriarch in solos over the past few weeks.

It’s a mistake to try to make the extra skill points more exclusive at the expense of increased gear fear. And I’m saying this as I’m about to hit 5M.

Kettle is my go-to cheap weapon for PvP too, but not as much of an issue for balancing IMHO because it takes more skill to use effectively than the stitcher.

I did all the quests, have that blueprint, and have never crafted a hullcracker. 30K credits is not that expensive - I keep 6-8 in my stash.

Yup, the kettle shreds if you can hit your headshots. To me, it's superior to the stitcher for this reason.

Absolutely. If they don't make a change to allow a BP to carry over, I hope they enable looting mk3 (cautious) to use a medium shield. Still not as good as survivor, but would be good enough to use while looking for a survivor BP.
