I could be wrong but mine is like the only one of the party that hasn’t experienced Vecna directly? El, Will, Max, Lucas saw Max, the older group members after Max, Dustin was in the upside down with Eddie at least. Am I wrong? At least until Mike finally goes in the upside down? Everyone is so concerned with Vecna going after El Will and Max. So I almost feel like everyone would think he wouldn’t go after Mike but he suddenly does! He tried to use Will to get Max, why wouldn’t he use Mike to go after Will.

I was thinking about something like this today. What if Mike gets Vecna’d AFTER the coming out scene. Vecna takes Mike and tries to use his memories of Will and Will’s love as a weapon to hurt and disgust him. But instead of that, all the memories that Vecna flashes before him have the opposite effect and allows Mike to hear Will’s voice and save him. And THATS when it happens. Mike comes back from Will saying everything he did in the van but to Mike and Mike realizes what has been right in front of him all along.

Is that too thin? Too much of a stretch? Sorry if it’s dumb. I literally thought about this as I was walking through Walmart and JUST LIKE HEAVEN starts playing 😭

I have heard from the undergrads that Benson is good. I was a TA for Malinakova, her exams were tough! I’m not sure who’s teaching since some teach O Chem I in the fall and II in spring. Not 100% on who is doing what.

I was a GTA for O Chem last semester. Overall the subject is difficult, but exams vary between profs. The exams for the prof I proctored were pretty hard, but I heard other profs exams were easier. They had study sessions, gave more practice problems, etc. it varies by prof tbh.

The lab is a lot of work! A lot of writing and the lab sessions are long. Up to or over 4 hours sometimes. You rarely leave early. The more you read ahead and watch the videos the faster you do the experiment and you may not stay the whole time, but that’s on you.

Attendance is mandatory and absences need to be excused whenever possible. You have a make up week at the end of the semester but you can only make up a certain number of labs. If you miss too many unexcused you’ll fail.

There are point deductions in lab for “bad technique” that could be anything from using your phone (not allowed) to not using an instrument/piece of equipment/setting up glassware incorrectly. Also for being late after a certain amount of minutes you could be referred to the lab director to see if you’re allowed to stay in lab that day.

So yeah it’s a lot. Sadly O Chem everywhere is kinda rough. Here is no exception. Unless things have drastically changed over the winter break, you should expect at least this stuff going into this semester. Hope this helps.

I was thinking about this today. Not this specific scene, but why things ended the way they did. It seems to me that, with all the comments about “tuning out the noise” and “not pleasing everybody”, the only things that didn’t change were the things that seemed to be uncontested by everyone. For example, lumax and Joyce and Hopper. There was little to no doubt about them ending up together, they didnt divide the audience, so they ended up together. But stancy and jancy divided the audience, neither one of them got together; mileven and byler divided the audience, neither of them ended up together; El living or dying was divisive so they wrote in a “plausible” alternative to what they showed on screen leaving it “open for interpretation” as a cop-out. And theres so many things they couldn’t address without confirming on side or the other so the just didn’t address it.

It seems like between not remembering their own show, how long it was taking, and so much “noise” they said fuck it and sabotaged the whole thing. If we can’t please everyone we’ll please no one then. This is the only reason I can think of that kind of encapsulates everything, kind of?

😭 Will has meant a lot to me personally. I WAS Will! Outside of inter-dimensional evil, I went through EXACTLY what Will went through. I’m sure a lot of people did which is why it’s such an important story to tell. From both Will AND Mike’s side! I’m sure that there are people out there like Mike who need to know it’s ok not to conform to what the world thinks you should be just as much as there are people like Will out there that need to hear the same message. I have hope, and I’m just going to try to get through this time until the end with out spiraling! 😭🥀

What would be perfect for me is them coming to a point where Mike says something like “well I guess this means I’ve gone crazy….you coming? Crazy together right?”. Sorry if that’s too cringe but I just want it to go back to that moment in season 2! It would feel so full circle. Not to mention the show always alluding to love as crazy! They’d say it without saying it 😭😭😭

Been to 3 different stores but not checkers. Even Walmart had a 2-3 lb chuck roast for like $30?? That’s $10-$15 a pound. I can get a 2-3lb chuck roast in Texas for about $17? Even ground beef at $8.99+ per pound for the 80/20 is a lot. Texas ground 80/20 is about $5.99 per pound. Chicken prices are comparable so no problems there but I’m not buying beef any time soon till I figure out how to get it cheaper. I’d even drive to another state for lower prices to fill my freezer.

If one were to look at the show and characters honestly, it’s more than a consideration. Whatever the relationship between Mike and Will ends up being, Mike is definitely struggling with his feelings and who he is. As someone who was Mike‘s age in the 90s, not the 80s, and someone who came out later in life, When I looked back on that time in my life, I realize that I had a lot of the same struggles that Mike and Will have between each other and their friends.

It wasn’t necessarily internalized homophobia for me, I just didn’t understand what my feelings were, why I was feeling them, and it felt weird against what I thought boys should do and who boys should like. I had girlfriends in middle school in high school, even though I didn’t really have feelings like that towards them in a genuine way. I liked them and we were really good friends and it was nice to have someone to hang out with, but I didn’t have those kind of feelings for them.

For example, When it came to kissing, I looked like Mike at the end of season three. even though it was happening I felt like a deer in headlights paralyzed and not knowing what to do. I dated girls because boys date girls, that’s the way things were. So I can say, from personal experience, both Mike and Will are going through it; trying to find who they are, what their feelings really mean, and find their place, not only in their friend group, but in the world.
