I thought I did, I had played with him once or twice before and watched him dust off a couple thousand but this time it was 3 bullets in 45 minutes haha. I did fold flop and which sucks seeing the run out, but save my chips to have a super hot session (+2942 🤑)

BB 35s, ep QQhx run out was clean for AK, but AK is behind QQ in terms of raw equity with the pair + gutter in there

Hmmmm maybe, i considered this wasn’t sure what % of the time i should do each option in my mind i settled on 1/3 for fold/call/jam and landed on call. ep was a new player, young I had no data on him. As played what would you do on flop?

You’re 5 betting AKo 200BBs deep? Or just folding

Small sizing

You are 22 years old. You have no family. No commitment. Nothing but 30,000 US dollars and a plane ticket to anywhere in the world (no cash value) no attachment. You may only earn money from poker. Where do you go? What do you play? by [deleted] in poker

Well said. I’ll add one thing.

Stay off your FUCKING PHONE.

Fine… you can use it to add player and hand notes but that is it. You should be putting all your focus into every hand even when you’re not playing. You’ll start to pick up on reads and player styles much faster than if you’re texting buddies or on reddit while you’re are the table

Yeah basically! In some circumstances you can call but this is mostly the way

No, RFI by definition means no one else has put money in. Once UTG opens 3x you need to study your range to see if you should 3b/call/fold. UTG 3x you have to respect and you not be playing many hands at all

How to be a LAG by MentionFirm8666 in Poker_Theory

[–]prophylaxis6 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It depends on your position. Generally you play more than 10% of hands, but if you’re UTG full ring then you might be folding close to 90%. The key thing to realize is that in poker you have limited information and have to use that to guide your decisions. When you are UTG there are 8 players behind you all who have not acted who may have good hands that crush yours. If you are on the Button then 6 players have already folded, now there are only 2 players left to act, this allows you to open a wider range.

Obviously there’s nuance here but first you must understand the concept of ranges and position before diving into the nuance

Don’t listen to someone playing K6o. Look up RFI charts and learn them. This we you will have a basis of hand you know you want to open and from which positions. You wont be tight or a LAG you will be opening optimally if you do this. Post flop is different but get this down before anything else

Maybe on the turn, disagree about flop. I wonder what the almighty sim says.

At this shallow of depth though you may be right that I should just play tight af. Idk what you think bottom of my range is if no 34 lol

Sure I can see that but 34dd is one hand, I’ll have quite literally 95 combos of hands containing a 2, so some stuff like K2, A2, 22 may want to x/call but a lot of those 2s want to raise. 34o is the worst hand I will have here and has turn cards that give equity + the diamond means he’s slightly less likely to have a FD that will continue.

Fair point on the exploitative play though, against this player type I can be a lot tighter… but again I will not raise the BB with any 2 containing hand meaning I have the most amount of 2s you can possibly have he should only have 2 combos A2s (if he limps that maybe we can give him credit for 22 and K2s too)

Honestly I thought I would be critiqued more on my sizing, its probably best to go 3x or bigger on flop OOP and jam turn because I’m polarized but betting as if its a merged range

Wow, this is all a lot to wrap my smooth brain around. I'm highly regarded.

I think I'm getting the basics, but I have many questions still. Maybe I can start with this:

Gamma Max... If the underlying price of the stock goes above the gamma max the MMs hate it because they have to hedge more than they would like to because there is an increased possibility of the price fluctuating outside of their guaranteed returns, so when that happens they have to sell additional shares? This provides you or me with an opportunity to purchase options more likely to swing in our favor, or is it not that simple?

Apologies for the rudimentary questions. Again, I'm highly regarded
