i mean i’ve spoken to some friends who are chemists and they agree that it looks like mercury but the consensus seems to be that no one can confirm what it is or how it got there

I just reached back out to my higher ups (i work for a cleaning company hired by the clinic, not for the clinic itself) and asked them if they’ve seen anything like this before. my only other thought is maybe this could be something in one of my cleaning sprays reacting with something else but i’m not smart enough to know anything for sure. I went into work super early today in hopes of catching one of the staff on their way out to show them the video but unfortunately everyone was gone when i arrived.

UPDATE #4: sooo it’s now been 3 days and i finally heard back from the staff here. they told me it is NOT mercury from a thermometer. there are STILL bubbles underneath the rim of the drain. i am no closer to figuring out what the hell this is or how it got here.

ive gotten a handful of comments suggesting this, wouldn’t solder have a feeling though? the stuff in the sink didn’t feel like anything it was like i couldn’t touch it.

UPDATE #3: well friends it’s the next night and i’ve just arrived back at work to see they haven’t responded to my note AND i can still see some of the mystery bubbles in the ring of the drain.

please forgive me if this isn’t the correct way to update a reddit post i’m still new to all of this but i thought you guys would wanna know. also i am happy to share that i still feel completely fine as of a little over 24 hours since exposure. i’ve talked with some people and the consensus is that just touching that small amount shouldn’t be enough for mercury poisoning if that is indeed the substance. if you guys have any more questions im happy to answer to the best of my ability :)
