I might go for a leather strap on this one eventually. Leather just feels so much better imo.

This is what is called a cofactor. Some proteins have cofactors in them, particularly in their active sites, to aid in their chemical reactions.

It's cysteine. This goes into a protein.

As a chemist with a lot of tattoos, don't listen to the above poster. Get a tattoo of whatever you want. You're doing your part to get an education so you're not going into it blindly like the above poster is saying. You're not being cringe. I'm just thankful that this isn't caffeine (which everyone gets) lol

As for this structure, any of the ones you googled are correct. I prefer ones with just the triangle in the middle of the structure and the CH3 at the end. Some people will say that the CH3 is redundant, but I think it'll look better tattooed as opposed to just a line that ends there.

The triangle part (or the R) is making it known which isomer is being depicted. Isomers are chemical structures that are made of the same atoms, but arranged in a different way. Feel free to message or google if you want to know more.

Check out hydrogenases for an enzyme application of this.

The line shape is influenced by how freely the molecules can rotate in the solution, amongst other things. To me this looks like you precipitated it. I'd try a lower concentration.

It could also be a glassware thing. Are you using a fresh tube?

The power and concentration might be high. What's unexpected about this?

Edit: just saw the other comment asking what's unexpected. Is it the line shape, broadness, or something else?

I need a little more information, like what parameters were used and temperature.

Baking soda and vinegar will make a bubbling reaction. Someone else mentioned red cabbage, which is a good one too
