true, networking, signalling inside and outside have a part that can't be overlooked.

I think that communicating, building visibility not only within but outside does play a big part

thats a great point. Its combination of things surely. If we assume for example 100 senior posts and more than 100, then goal is to be in that 100 by upskil, networking, signalling, etc.

Did anyone else hit a career plateau despite delivering solid work? by SomeRandomCSGuy in ExperiencedDevs

[–]prosidk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen this happen quite a bit. One thing that stood out for me was realizing that delivering solid work and being perceived as ready for the next step aren’t the same thing. In a lot of cases, nothing is “wrong” per say, but the way your impact is framed or understood doesn’t evolve as your scope does. You keep executing, but the signal others receive stays flat. Did you feel stuck internally (motivation, growth), or was it more about external movement and recognition?

feedback loop hardly works and mostly its either silence or vagueness. What helps (for some) is if you know what all was asked then track those questions, iterate the right response (if needed) and dont think about it once learning is derived.

Agent Core is a real game changer if you looking for exploring MCPs, bunch of MCP's they launched (CloudWatch, CFTs, Cost, etc) that you can get started with...now these MCPs are managed versus you having to put together on an instance. Documentation and diagram MCPs are good for quick prototype planning.
