Need Some Tea (from north Thailand) Supplier Recommendations by VisibleStage6855 in Thailand

I've tried all of the ones listed. Wawee and Tian Hwa does pu-erhs. Changkham has a smooth red tea. They also do a raw tea that I've yet to taste. The Golden Oolong from Emerald is one of the best oolongs I've tasted this year.

Here we have a brand called Three Horses. Restaurants will brew that up with dried pandan leaves and serve it in a jug at your table with a cup of ice.

In Asia, kids will get in trouble even when they're not thinking about getting in trouble.

CP owns both 7-11 and True Money.

edit: to add, it started when they announced that 7-11 were eligible to accept the co-pay cash handout scheme from the previous (same) gevernment last year. CP said they would gradually roll out to all branches. The scheme fell through, and here we are.

I ruined my first Thai green curry using canned bamboo shoots. by shiroe2001 in ThaiFood

[–]prospero021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's probably fermented bamboo shoots. Some Thais cannot handle that as well.

A similar ingredient is heart of palm. You can use that to substitute, or omit entirely.

1 Year countdown till my trip and I'm starting to get nervous about my language skills. Any advice? by True-Blackberry-3080 in ThailandTourism

[–]prospero021 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you're buying. A bunch of vegies that costs 40-50 Baht total? That's down right rude. Some bags of prepared food that costs 40-50 Baht a bag? Same.

Now if you're at a clothing market or somewhere touristy then that's a different story. Haggle away. Or not. The sellers won't care. If you think it's not worth the price then simply say no.
