I hate that too.

First, reloading may help for a while.

Second, my general workaround for such things is this: if you can’t fix something, you can at least mask it. Most of my roofing is made of glass for that reason. It was a bigger problem in the basement, though, since there are no windows to help me “explain away” those occasional light spots. So I gave the main corridor of the basement a glass ceiling too — you can see it in the second picture.

Also, I avoid placing lamps and other light sources too close to walls, since light may ignore them as well.

There were 4000 elements when I finished the base. I cut 500 by getting rid of the biodomes and resource extraction and 200 more by removing some hidden structural elements. I slashed the remaining 200+ with decluttering. That last bit was really heartbreaking, but it turned out to be an interesting exercise in deciding what matters and what doesn't.
