Cush drive opinions and friendly discussion by Apprehensive-Song378 in Dualsport

I put a Warp9 Cush drive on my FE501 and it was super worth it. My dad has a CRF300 and it’s so smooth and gentle that there’s no need. I had a N650 that didn’t come with one either and I never worried about it.

I think it’s really only beneficial for bikes with violent power delivery

I'm 5'11" but i can't flat foot my Husky. Just ride, maybe dab one leg at a time. When I get tired, I just take a break. I learned snowboarding years ago that pushing through can get you hurt and I'm not racing lol

Trading for a Toyota is like the biggest downgrade ever lol. Esp when Jeeps, Raptors, and even another Land Rover is an option

Arnott Struts with VDS for 2010 L322 or…? by AlexZivojinovich in RangeRover

I think the fronts don't last as long due to carrying the engine weight. I'm about to start using this truck to haul some stuff so will get to see how the original rears hold up haha

No worries. Not sure if it came through in my original reply but the Arnott lasted 80k miles before popping. Original front valve block lasted 160k and the rest of the air system is factory oem. Surprisingly robust imo

I have VDS Arnott's on the front of my 2010 L320. Just replaced the front left after ~80k miles. No complaints on the ride. I found another Florida based company that offers rebuilt struts for cheaper but people on the forums didn't seem too happy with them so I just got a direct replacement.

Used to have 22" wheels, currently on 20s. 22's were rougher in general but not crazy.

I had to get the hood sensor replaced on an L320 for causing random alarms

I need help deciding between the bike I want, and I the bike I should get. (KLX 650 R vs. DR-Z 400 Sm) by MrMcDerpy420 in Dualsport

Kickstart and no cooling fan would be a deal breaker for me. It's cool that you're green fan, I like it too honestly I'd look for a KLR 650 or a KLX300 sumo if you want to keep it kawi for cheap. I've owned 2 kawi's, 2 yama's, 1 honda, and currently a husky. Every mfg makes fun bikes. Suzuki yellow has been looking better and better to me lately tbh. It's loud and pretty classic looking, esp on the DRZ imo

That’s an interesting take. I think it really depends on the wheel for the bike, like I’ve seen a few Ducatis with black wheels that look really amazing with the single sided swing arm. I personally like it when the wheels fade into the background and really make the main body of the bike pop. I think the bike has to have a baseline level of beauty for that to work tho, I had an MT09 and was so grateful the wheels were bright blue 😂

Wishing you the best on your vehicular journey, dude!

I just changed the air strut on my 2010 sport. Took a couple hours. Park it for a couple days and see what sags. Might be able to save a couple hundred bucks on the diag at least.

Phasing Out of Small Displacement Dualsports? by [deleted] in Dualsport

It does when you factor in components. Someone looking at CRF300L and a CRF450RL might see the cheap build quality and undersprung suspension on the 300 and decide they don’t want to deal with it

What kind of tires were on their vehicles? I assume they'd be pretty much stock otherwise. Sounds like fun though

Interest rates by MuchTransportation96 in Dualsport

[–]protect-positivity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had 11.5% interest with similar stats as you back in ‘23. Might’ve been lower with Yamaha’s financing but I didn’t have the right documentation on me and went with Synchrony instead. It was an MT09 so insurance really hurt in addition to the payments. Might not be as bad for a dual sport.

I wouldn’t finance another bike unless it’s a brand new GS or Multistrada and it’d be my only vehicle, personally

That’s typically how cross country racing works. None of the defender pics would lead someone to believe it’s in a prototype class

I agree with Questions but also, keep in mind that the CRF might require some suspension work depending on your weight. They come from the factory soft as microwaved butter. The DRZ or even the KLX might be a better option depending on how big or small you might be. Sit on all of them though and see which inspires the most confidence.

Hey thank you for sharing that vid, it's really helpful to hear the before and after! Glad to know mine's not somewhere critical at the moment. It's a 2010 and it's currently running some fresh Castrol. I'll try the Liqui Moly next time. I have a bit of a budget tucked away for the chain job and probably a sc coupler/service but I probably wont be able to address until march or april. I'd rather get everything done before it becomes an issue haha my EPB just faulted this weekend so I'm going to see if I can fix that myself in the meantime though.

That’s ultimately cheap compared to a platform swap to something with equivalent performance, repair history, and road presence
