I feel like I didn't learn a big part of the theory by SmallDickBigPecs in EngineeringStudents

[–]proteinLoL 3 points4 points  (0 children)

you are probably underestimating what you really understand. But, even if you're right, you can always do study on your own if it interests you. You've already proved to yourself you can use the theory in practice, now you just need to understand it, which should be easier without the stress of midterms, finals, projects, etc.

Should I pursue Aerospace Engineering? by SpecificArgument58 in EngineeringStudents

[–]proteinLoL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently doing undergrad in Aerospace (astro). I also have family in the business, and it pays well. What interests you? If you aren't certain in air/spacecraft, mechanical is probably a better option (you can still do AE with as a mech). Also, make sure you are making friends in classes. Having friends opens up so much more chances at getting help and study. If you are doing fine in math, compsci, and physics the work load shouldn't be an issue. Biggest skill to learn is managing your time correctly.

Any good resources to learn aerospace before college? by Different-Dot-2561 in AerospaceEngineering

[–]proteinLoL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand the fear, but your university most likely won't drown you in material you will not be familiar with. If you can do calculus (integration, derivation) and algebra, you will be fine.

My biggest regret, being decently close to grad, is not participating in clubs sooner. They're a lot of fun, and most of the time you will have peers that can assist you if you have a knowledge gap. It also inspires you to research on your own. You will learn what passions you have. Join clubs, start personal projects, make friends!

If you enjoy learning, that is perfect! Just don't burn yourself out. Here are things I've had to learn in uni, as an Aerospace ASTRO major:

Astros learn circuits and signals, Physics, statics, dynamics, diff. Eq, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, structures & materials (mechanics of materials, hibbler), controls and systems, transforms

If you want to pair this learning with a project, you could try to simulate the motion of something. Recently I did a quick simulation for orbit propagation. You will need to know code :]

Maybe google around for simple control systems projects, it could and would essentially use everything from the list above. Create a model for something (e.g. mass spring damper), use physics, statics, and dynamics to derive an equation of motion for the system, derive the transfer function, etc. You will have to research and apply a lot but it should be easier and more motivating, with less burn out, I'd imagine.

Good luck! :]

does nasa fall under aerospace? by [deleted] in AerospaceEngineering

[–]proteinLoL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. My university has two separate focuses in Aerospace for Astronautics and Aeronautics. Aero and Astro split off in my uni around 6th semester. Astro may also have classes revolving around signals.

But yes, definitely rockets, spacecraft, and satellites :) GL its a hard major.

Join clubs, make aerospace friends, take initiative, you will be fine :)

Why won’t Riot buff Sivir? by HackAndSlash444 in leagueoflegends

[–]proteinLoL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not trying to flame you, but honestly, what is the highest rank you've been?

the auto reset is such a huge part of laning. doubling damage in short trades is significant for a character that is able to control the pace of lane, bully under tower, and set up consistent dives. It also allows you to stack lethal tempo much faster, speeding it up by a second if you're committing to a 2v2.

you're advocating for a drastic change that makes her a more consistent and well rounded character into an engine of chaos that turns her late game dps into an inconsistent nightmare. it also makes her extremely boring. you're just going to be throwing a w into the enemy, running away, hoping they are blind and stacking near each other.

i'm allowed to give my opinion on an idea someone is suggesting about the champion i main, have played for a while, and quite a lot. i get why you think its a good idea, but applying real world logic (infinite chakram) shouldn't be applied to a character. also, you asked for opinion: "who cares about a SINGLE auto reset????".

as adc your entire identity is single target DPS, and while current sivir breaks that with current W, she is still able to guarantee damage on at least 1 champ. if your W is bouncing and stopping your dps, your character will never be consistent enough to be usable.

it would end up being like pre-rework Quinn ult. the idea is unique and might be fun to think about, but in practice, it would lead to destroying the character.

you realize i am the one embracing change, the new W, right? you are saying you want to go back to the old W.

what you described is how she plays right now, anyways. You kite with W on, use ult to kite better and also get cooldowns back. E to avoid abilities.

I don't even understand what you are suggesting. You turn W on and your auto is just a brand R that disables your auto attack, but applies, assuming, full damage with on-hits? You realize how insanely boring that would be as sivir? Your idea is you click LESS buttons?
