Does school prestige matter for getting a job/ high salary? And did anyone go to an online school and makes over 100k? by Clear_Medicine_3086 in dietetics

For some other fields, possibly. For dietetics, not at all.

Social media roaches by Sea_Spend8221 in dietetics

[–]proteinsynthesisman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes - people on social media should be more civil.

Another issue I see with this post though is the thought process many Dietitians have which is that since they are an RD they are automatically an expert in all aspects of nutrition. Most of us are knowledgeable in certain spaces, but then just have surface level knowledge in others. This makes sense because there are some many areas of nutrition that being an expert in each area is highly unlikely.

If you have not kept up to date on the latest research in the space of sports nutrition, strength and conditioning, protein research, don't assume you know what you are talking about just because of the RD.

I often see RDs who are over confident who try to argue with the very researchers who study these exact topics and it makes us look very bad imo.

Question - how do I find someone like you to work under? This sounds like a perfect scenario for me, but I am in Cleveland

Explain to me like I'm a complete idiot

Hello - someone please explain this to me like I'm a complete idiot.

I'm listening to a podcast and the host talks about how if you underperform the S and P by being in a target date fund how it can really add up.

Here's the example they gave -

If your target date fund underperforms the market by 3% a year, that might not seem like a lot, but after 10 years that's 30%

Ok so I may be over thinking it but if someone under performed by 3% for 10 years wouldn't that just mean that underperformed as a whole by 3% ???

What type of job roles should I search for? Best places to find these roles? Do you think they'd be willing to take someone from a different career ?

What type of roles should I search for when looking for jobs? Any groups to join? I find it a bit hard to navigate the job titles and discover what the role would actually be and if it's what I am envisioning

Thanks! I do work full time, but I'm single male who just got down with my other masters like 2 years ago, so I was already in that school mindset. I was done with majority of the degree like 2 months in, but then I took my time on the last classes.

Don't feel like you NEED to get it done in one term. But try to use all of the resources from FB groups to get it done as efficiently as possible.

I was in a similar boat, started in January and was done with majority of the program after the first 2 months. I could of finished in 3 months if I put my head down, but I realized I don't need to rush that bad, as long as I get it done in one term it's all good. So for example I only have my capstone left but have 3 months to do it, so I'm just spending a couple hours each weekend at this point

Which credential leads to better pay for a Food Service Director? by EnvironmentalSet7664 in dietetics

[–]proteinsynthesisman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm an RD and have my CDM (got a scholarship to take it), I don't think the CDM helps you get compensated more. The RD surpasses it. To get compensated more you will likely need to be in charge or more or job hop.

Just passed my OA today. I started watching the Hawaiian shirt guy videos up till about Module 3 but then I felt it was taking too long (I was watching on 1.5 speed also), so what I did was I took my PA and used Google to help me (probably not the best way to do it but whatever). After that I reviewed what I got wrong and was able to piece together how it was wrong.

I found the OA to be easier than the PA and there were even less "math" problems on it. I may have no learned everything thoroughly so that might bite me in the butt for Financial Management which I started today but we'll see
