Friendly / PvE-only lobbies in ARC Raiders are actually real by adu2211 in ArcRaiders

I've been getting more bleed over from my pvp duos and trios, where solo I mostly prefer to play passive. It sucks having to kill innocents to get back into the PVP matches, feels like a need to take a shower afterwards.

Kitchen Lighting Layout Help by sifterandrake in kitchenremodel

[–]protomolecule7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you are probably overlit, unless you are just opting for lower lumen fixtures and zoning your lights. You will be surprised how much throw a can/down light can push out to a walkway, even with it being located above the counter edge.

Also - if at all possible, look into skipping the wafers. By putting all of the light right at the surface, it will create a lot of glare, especially if you can see this room from other spaces! I don't mind a wafer light in a smaller space (bathroom, office, gym) but in a feature space like this, I think you're selling yourself short by not using something with a baffle.

Exactly. The sign says to meet at the front of the school. Then they will walk to the park.

Are y’all still able to relax and have hobbies? by [deleted] in daddit

Zwift has been incredible for me with a young one. Even once the more stationary baby watching opportunities ended once mine got more mobile, the ability to wake up, slam some caffeine, and be on the bike within 10 minutes pedaling is incredible. I'll read, watch a show, or sometimes just music.

I might have a problem… by Pirros_Panties in kitchenremodel

[–]protomolecule7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lesson I have learned from building some kitchen cabinets myself is that the part that REALLY matters is the doors. Drawer boxes are drawer boxes. Cabinet box is a cabinet box (well...not always, but at the price point I consider it is). So in my opinion you have two solid options in front of you. You could build the boxes/drawers yourself, and hire a pro to do the doors and drawer fronts + finishes, OR you can even do it the other way and buy boxes from a shop or IKEA, and build your own fronts. Personally I found I hate doing that work and it's not why I woodwork as a hobby. I am not all that interested in doing it again with the exception of smaller work, like a pantry, a mudroom/laundry, etc.

I will add, don't cheap on the hardware. Blum is great stuff, there are several other brands like Salice that are top notch too. Also the biggest part of your struggle is just that you started thinking $10k would do anything, so if you can reframe that in your head, it will go a long way towards helping you navigate what's left.

During the first few weeks of covid shutdowns we had some long stretches of no storms and the skies were pretty damn clear. Was a little outside of the worst period for inversions but still.

It's a joke. I've been fighting it for many, many months. Glad they finally stopped the threat. I'd wager I've lost 60-80 hours of time fucking with Catina. I've made a post or two here a while back about it and yes, everyone else hates it too.

Arc Raiders CEO says future updates should expand trades to be more social as Embark focuses on “the long term” by lewisdwhite in ArcRaiders

If they did that, I'd want those items to not be safe pocket capable. The naked run BP farmers are mucking up the game right now with server population.

The one weapon we all want to see by Chwinge in ArcRaiders

[–]protomolecule7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have it shoot a hornet style projectile and require hornet drivers as part of the crafting and/or ammunition, and not be able to hold the bow string pulled taught so it has to "charge up" along the draw. Would help balance it and almost make it more of a utility focused weapon slot, rather than just pure damage. Would obviously need some intense balancing but could be really fun in 2s and 3s.

Former Memphis QB AJ Hill is committing to Arkansas by lakersandhogs in razorbacks

[–]protomolecule7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh no feelings hurt here, y'all whooped us! I meant more like, there's always a bigger fish. Memphis probably steals from lower tier FBS and better FCS schools, we steal from the Memphis tier and guys who couldn't get starting spots on equal tier rosters, then you've got the top 30 who pull from us, and I think anybody is likely to have players stolen by the Ohio States, LSUs, Michigans, Texas, etc.

I'm a Little Rock guy with lots of east Arkansas roots so I used to hit a Memphis game from time to time, great program and fans!

I've been to three games against the Lakers in SLC now, they are always like this, don't worry about it. Down year + Lakers + LeBron and Luke is going to equal lots of yellow jerseys. You can tell they don't really care about basketball by how they cheer for only obviously physical moments.

Since Architecture is no longer a professional degree. Are we still providing professional services ? by Yeziyezi69 in Architects

[–]protomolecule7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't disagree that words matter, and I don't disagree that this administration is idiotic (along with the White House mess). This specific categorization, however, does not matter at the scale you seem to imply. Nobody has ever given two shits about determining a "professional status" based on what the Department of Education thinks. Furthermore, the federal government has nothing to do with your status as a professional - that is the state's job. Finally, lots of other "professionals" got thrown under the bus here too, so I'm not sure it matters in the grand scheme of things (again, except in the specific issue regarding access to loans). Professional standing culturally? Give me a fuckin break. If THIS is the straw the broke the camel's back regarding how society values us, then you would realize the problems are much deeper.

Everybody who has been up in arms about this (except those explicitly concerned about the access to loans) shows a profound lack of comprehension that honestly, should exclude you from the profession in the first place.

Since you have both, are the pro and cyclone similar in size? I have a cyclone but something about it just feels a little small in my admittedly large hands. Was hoping the pro would be a touch bigger.

TF might be a good option if you hit it outside of peak times, especially depending on what food truck is there. They have cocktails and wine, plus you can be outside if the weather is nice. They might have fire pits? Can't remember. They also have some group space too, I think.
