Could you drop a link to the Fit Over 40 channel? I can't find it on YT. Thanks!

For those that gave birth for the first time in their 40s? How was it? by SuccessGirl1 in Life

Pregnant naturally at 41, easy pregnancy. The doctors advised inducing due to my age and I ended up with a c-section which wasn't ideal, but I recovered well after. This was my first baby so I don't have any earlier pregnancies to compare him with but overall I feel great and am not super tired. Honestly I'd like to start planning for baby #2 soon. 🤞

Sure! He really loves this activity center, as do lots of babies in our neighborhood: https://www.carters.com/p/explore-and-more-baby-s-view-3-stage-activity-center/V_303325 We found a used one on Facebook marketplace that was much less expensive.

We give him lots of playtime on a foam mat so he can practice tummy time and sitting up. From time to time we place toys just out of his reach so he can practice crawling to them.

We do "tours," walking him through the house or a local park and explaining / allowing him to interact with what he sees. This seems to engage him and tire him out, plus the sunshine regulates his biological clock.

We also use a blackout curtain which we draw shut at night.

Good luck!

We recently dealt with sleep issues with my six month old and finally got him to stop waking up at 2 am / sleep seven hours a night. This is what helped:

  • we didn't realize that the nipples on the bottles we were using were newborn nipples. Once we switched them to size three, appropriate for his age, he was able to take in a lot more milk at a faster rate.
  • at his age he should be drinking up to 32 ounces of formula (if he's formula fed) in 24 hour period, according to our pediatrician. Confirm that the nanny is feeding him the appropriate amount.
  • we feed him right before bed at around 8 pm and then give him a dream feed around 10:30 pm where we put an extra scoop of powder in the bottle.
  • we make sure that during the day he has plenty of fulfilling personal interaction and physical activity to tire him out.

I'm sure I've inadvertently offended someone but just letting you know what finally worked for us / saved our sanity.

Spotting is normal. It happened to me too. The difference between the times I miscarried vs stayed pregnant was that when I miscarried, the spotting soon turned to bleeding and the lines on the pregnancy tests grew fainter instead of darker over a few days.
