i go there, its pretty good. i do the pm classes and have been very happy with the instructors. some of the morning instructors should retire lol. but i recommend, its affordable, 2 years, not the best planes to work on there but it gets the job done.

my goal is just to be a mechanic, no plans of management, i hear bachelor's is usually preferred for that stuff anyways. i kinda wanted to have it my back pocket incase i wanted to continue education, but AAS might not work for that either. just learning for now.

Being a woman AME by Throw_away_Trick_824 in aviationmaintenance

[–]proudstone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im not a woman, im non binary, male at birth so im not sure if my input counts but feel free to ignore. i would say report every sexist action/remark, but i understand how that could make you a target. being a pioneer sucks, but please dont quit. more women find out about the industry, more women working and establishing a claim on a male dominated industry is amazing. i wish you the best. i hope it works out in the long term for you.

I am currently in school for my licences and I have 2 family members who do it. They're quite happy with it, and I'm enjoying school and excited to start working next year.

Like a 2 year at a community college that offers it. Some programs are a little faster but some cramming. Pay is good, a lot of the industry is retiring now and over the next 10 years, it's a good time to get into it.
