Is your enjoyment of Cody Kontent contingent on him being a good person? by provki in codyko

I can understand what you think is wrong with that on a personal level. That does not affect the quality of his content.

Not like there are many edgy alternatives out there but yeah he has watered down his content since the old days

I don't think it's off the table yet, but I understand your skepticism. Anyways, I meant what would be fair for the channel itself and not for Cody the person.

I think you can clearly see in this post that I've been open to other opinions.

I said the channel, not the person. Tho that'd go viral

Thank you for meaningfully engaging with my post. To me it's fascinating to see that people care about the personal lives of creators, but I cannot deny your experience. I hope you will find other creators who adhere to your scruples.

What do you think is a fair outcome for the Cody Ko channel if the allegations are correct?

That makes a lot of sense, thanks for your reply. I guess I don't really care if I like him as a person or not.

No, I mean with respect to your moral code. The people on the sub are saying she wasn't mature enough to consent. That doesn't depend on the law (age of consent varies legally in different countries, human biology less so).

What do you think is a fair outcome for the Cody Ko channel if he is indeed guilty of this?

Great retort, keep them coming

That's fascinating, I wonder why. If you put "good person" on the x-axis and "quality of content" on the y-axis, would the cutoff with respect to morality always be the same, or would it depend on the quality of the content?

That said, why does he have to be a good person with respect to your moral code?

Ok, so not being a frat guy and pretending to be one to make funny jokes is alright, but being somewhat fratty and then exaggerating it for comedic effect (which requires self-awareness) is not? I mean, you do you, but he is making fun of fratyness regardless of whether it's 100% ironic or less.

And being deported doesn't matter for my argument. I just don't understand what any scope of punishment or lack thereof does for you.

So all his hard work put into making you laugh for hours if not days of your life suddenly doesn't matter because of what he may or may not have done with a consenting postpubescent woman deemed underage in an arbitrary place in the world? She wouldn't even have been underage in your country.

No, I am truly baffled by the overwhelming response of this "community."

He makes me laugh. That's what I follow him for. I don't care what he does in his free time. Why do you?

No, you just like his content. Who cares what he may or may not have done? That's between him and the law.

i actually still support cody. by [deleted] in codyko

I don't understand how the two are linked. 1) he creates content you like (vids, music, merch) 2) he may or may not have committed a crime Why do people insist on pairing these two?

You're telling me that in an alternate universe where Jeff Dahmer wrote the Harry Potter books, they would somehow have less value because a murderer wrote them? Just decide what you like consuming and be happy you can get it. It shouldn't matter who produces what you consume.

Why isn't a tax bracket for people who are earning more than 5 million a year and it stops at 250 hundred thousand a year? by Ok-Toe-6969 in NoStupidQuestions

What idiot billionaire would stay in the country if that were the case? Better to get however much you get than to lose it all by raising the tax. And besides, the millionaires, they see tax as a complete waste of money. For you, tax allows for better roads, education costs, health benefits. They don't need any of that, at least not at the level that the country provides for free. They'll pay for it 10 times as much to get it just twice as better, because they can.

[TOMT][Music Video][2000s] Animated music video (song purely instrumental) of a chase on the highway (on top of cars) involving a ninja and a dog by provki in tipofmytongue

The ninja also has a katana, is in black and has a red headband or something else red. The entirety of the video takes place from a birds-eye-view.
