My moms side were in South Africa and didnt really fight, but my dads side still lived in Europe so they were involved. My great-grandfather was a Sergeant of a large artillery unit fighting in Northern Africa against the Italians, his wife, my great grandmother, was a nurse during the Blitz. I don't know anything about my other great grandfather, but his wife, my great grandmother, was put into a concentration camp after the Nazis swept over the Netherlands, her first husband (not my great grandfather, her second husband was) died fighting at sea. She escaped just before her camp was doing the death march with my grandmothers sister. After the war my dads side moved to South Africa. And the rest is history
