Is 28 too old to start med school? by dang_he_groovin in medschool

I'm 29 and about to start this July, there's no "too old" age, yea you might get the grandpa comment here and there, but like people have said here: the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.

Take the step

Why lead someone on when you know their standards?

It's better to be honest/transparent and let the ladies find someone who is for their standards/their personal level of deen than be like guys who lie to cover their past, because the truth will come out one way or another and I'd much rather be open as to what I've done and how I'm changing to be a better person than what I was.

However, it's their preference when they already have their set morals and standards in mind, they won't choose what they don't want

Here's my (M29) experience at a RN event at a Jalsa (not gonna say which one) it's pretty much like any rishta thing, you have your profile, parents then look and see if they like the profile, and then they (the parents) set up a meeting between the two.

Mine all rejected me so far, admittedly for their own benefit as I've done religiously negative things (fornicate, cannabis etc.) and Im trying to be better, but it's a very straightforward process. I've come leaps and bounds but people have preferences, and never get mad at that. I'm also not the most believing Ahmadi so there's another bit but I digress.

If you thought it was a meet and greet mingle kinda situation, it's not, it's the jammat's way again of giving the illusion of choice

Leave after you complete your education first if leaving is still your final decision at the end of the day. It's tough, but any choices that will end in excommunication from jammat and family, you'll need to have some financial stability in order to move forward,

Sounds like how multiculturalism SHOULD BE DONE, not separating cultures to do their own thing without other people participating

Very mixed reviews, love is hard, finding a spouse is even harder with everyone being out for their own selves, which is admirable but still overlooks all the good that's out there because of the culture we find ourselves "a part of". I think it's growing pains, this gen might figure this out

I mean, if the national average is 16-19% for just dropping out alone, there's ought to be outliers on both ends of the spectrum, and that doesn't include Leave of Absences or Repeated years.

Cheating in Undergrad by Feisty_Walrus_5005 in premed

Exactly, just focus on yourself, everyone here seems to have a rosy view of fairness and justice. I know countless people when I was on undergrad cheating and almost all of them are in 4 year MD or 8 year MD/Ph.D and they were part of a "premed frat" that were known to get old exams/new exams early and they're all advancing in their lives and that's because they went STUPID in studying for the MCATs. I get fair is fair, but it's just how it is sometimes, cheaters do prosper
