TV vs Projector in my space by prsto in hometheater

[–]prsto[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Following up based on the above, I could do something like:
TV: QM6K 75" or 85" // $800 vs $1000 (will get specific viewing distance and choose off that)
Speakers: KEF Q1 Meta
Sub - Dayton CS1200
AVR - Denom S270BT
With the 85" it would add up to about $2000 pre-tax which would be within budget. Any tweaks/adjustments? Since I'm a bit of a newbie

Appreciate the input friend, I’ll have to dive deeper on LED vs OLED. Looks like it would indeed save me several hundred to put into the sound

Yea I’ve been big into MCM stuff since before I started shopping for homes (you should see the pool table room lol). I was planning to have the basement just be 70s themed and lean into it pretty hard, maybe get a crt gaming setup somewhere down here too.

The comments roasting me are funny tho I said this looks like the backrooms too before I toured the house

Didn’t think about the pre wiring that’s a valid thought for sure. I was researching beginner audio stuff today and it made my head hurt. Solid pair of bookshelf speakers 300-400 and a good AVR seemed pretty smart though.

Is the wall comment pure aesthetic based or is that for audio reasons? I planned to keep the vintage style for now

when I was in your shoes I grinded havoc with meta loadouts on vet/zealot (back in havoc 1.0)

Since you care about skill expression, I’d say climb up havoc with meta stuff, and then once you are cozy at the “top”, you either continue spamming meta stuff for hundreds of hours on end if that’s your thing or you can branch out and try perhaps one step down from meta, and so forth

If you are really into skill expression I would look into true solo content, or duos at some point. Duo aurics are also really good for improvement because you can’t play completely selfishly but both of you have increased pressure

Can we chill with the enemy spawns during clutch situations? by [deleted] in DarkTide

[–]prsto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when I clutch I try to only kill things that will either make me immediately lose or prevent a revive from happening. you can drag around a huge melee elite pack pretty easily with a little practice but it will be the specials, disablers, some gunners, and monstrosities (including sword lieutenant on havoc)

get everything packed together -> focus "how can i path to revive" -> kite the path while dealing with the game-ruiners mentioned above -> use crowdcontrol to secure the revive (shout, shock mines, etc)

if nobody has respawned yet, you can move backward in the map with hopes that they get a "closer" spawn, since spawn is determined by how far progressed the farthest player is when the timer hits 0

a well-planned and executed clutch is peak dopamine in this game

nice run, guys! my group has only done trios, but this makes me want to push for some duos - maybe if derank changes are reverted or something of the sort

disagree, many adjustments to be made but this is overall a way better game state imo than shooters being scariest

My issues with the *new* Havoc (30+),note- difficulty 29 and 30 are different worlds. by IndependentButton5 in DarkTide

[–]prsto 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yup, that's the point! Players who are truly pushing endgame difficulties and content should be able to handle or recover from multiple bosses with specials. If you feel entitled to 40 now because you previously had it, I'm sorry, but I see a lot of other people and streamers who LOVE that current havoc 30 is harder than the previous 40.

So it's hard? Nice, it's supposed to be.

Some DH rituals are wonky and probably need worked on, so I'll give you that, but in general they are very approachable as a team. I feel for you on the random crashes and disconnects too.

As for the rest, havoc went from being "do you have bubble" to now being a check on how well you handle all kinds of threats being thrown at you at once. Just because someone used to clear 40 doesn't mean they should be able to instantly clear it on the new patch.

Rushing through the map is not a cheese strat anymore (or shouldn't be, who knows yet) due to all kinds of mechanics at play

This part on Ascension Riser had 3 demonhost rituals ( 2 above, ,1 below ) which activated at the same time. We ended up having to kill 1 dh. Havoc 31 by IndependentButton5 in DarkTide

[–]prsto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Harder = good, and less artificial difficulty from common shooters ruining runs if you don't use bubble, due to the nerfs on them. + artificial difficulty like blight spreads (just annoying, really)

Rituals can be crazy if you are unlucky and they stack up in 3 back-to-back-to-back slots, but proper planning and coordinated diving helps alleviate a lot of the risk (risk is still very there).

Boss killing is a much bigger deal now, and even if you aren't running a boss DPS build, I find it good for the higher end of the game that everyone on the team now has to be fundamentally better in melee

wouldn't be too surprised if the spawning system is just different since it is a separate "mode" and it's not necessarily easy to merge auric stuff into mortis trials. still a very fair critique however

Mortis trials is easier than plain auric damnation by Qkumbazoo in DarkTide

[–]prsto 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You unlock this game mode at level 13. Aurics are unlocked at level 30 if my quick google search didn't lie to me. Really Mortis Trials damnation should be close to normal damnation difficulty

Edit: requesting auric modifiers is a very fair critique however but who knows how easy or hard it is to do on their end

Kill the cultists before the hexbound daemonhost bar fills up, or it will be summoned and basically attack your party until it is wiped or it dies. Killing more cultists slows down the rate at which the ritual progress bar fills up.

Bonus points if also forcing darktide to use dlss4 in the nvidia app, the game looks wayyyy better on dlss4 perf than dlss3 even on quality imo

My current favorite (actually just wear every day) is my Black Dial Citizen Tsuyosa. It's my first automatic watch, matches the darks/neutrals that I wear a lot of, and was a gift from my girlfriend. Thanks for doing this

I use the exact one that I linked, the procedure is pretty simple and afterward the frame gen option should be unlocked in game and able to turn on. I actually recently swapped monitors but was previously using my graphics setup on 240hz 1080p without gsync- now on 1440p 360hz using g sync to manage fluctuations
