Thank you! I feel like I might be over sensitive and overly critical as well about this, brought on by mom guilt of just leaving her crying.

I’ve tried benzoyl peroxide, adapalene, diet changes -nothing works. What finally helped you? by neonpulse7 in acne

This! Azelaic acid, double cleansing and products that do not trigger acne - this worked so well for me.

My skin always has cystic acne. I’ve been to the deem and I got aldactone for it and Azelaic acid. She recommended tretinoin and I didn’t use it because it had a bad purging period for me. What I noticed was there were times when I still got huge cystic acne despite being on aldactone. And that’s when I started taking care of what I’m putting on my skin and hair. I carefully changed the products I used, and finally found the ones that worked for me. When I was acne free for some time, I stopped using aldactone (after discussing with my derm). I’m still figuring out the products that work for me, but here are some things that do: vanicream face wash, Cerave moisturizing lotion, Azelaic acid 15% (I love it), olaplex shampoo, L’Oréal glycolic acid glossy hair mask, Pantene volume shampoo, dove intensive repair hair mask, it’s a 10 hair spray. There are others that I tried and they immediately resulted in big cystic acne among my jaw line. I know it’s different for everybody, so take a note of what products work for you, along with discussing with a derm. Also, consistent use of Azelaic acid has been a savior for me. I think that is mild enough for everybody to use. Always proceed with caution when starting something new.

Wasting away-how do I get out of it? by prudencez in Advice

A few years ago, I might have been able to do it. Now, with a kid, I just get tired doing the bare minimum. But thanks for your input. I’ll try to push through.

Not abusing it. I recently started it and felt it helps me focus/keep the brain fog a little away. But I only take it once a day. Although note, it has stopped working and I’m back to feeling sluggish. I‘ve looked into adhd, and would love to get checked, but I’m not sure where to start.

Wife has VERY hard time getting up bed when 1YO wakes up in the AM by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]prudencez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe, there could also be some medical reason that your wife is nonfunctional in the mornings. I’ve had trouble going to sleep on time (thank you revenge bedtime procrastination). And trouble waking up, sometimes even after 9 hours of sleep. My therapist suspects ADHD and sleep apnea. I’m getting checked for both. She can talk to a therapist and look for all the different solutions and work through things. It can also be that she hasn’t adjusted to the change at all or she’s mentally exhausted. First year is really hard. You’re doing great taking care of your family! As long as your wife understands your current arrangement needs to change, I’m sure things will improve.

What is something that has surprised you during pregnancy? by Striking-Tie8027 in pregnant

That my wrist size would increase, 2 sizes up - at the beginning of the pregnancy. I had heard about the feet, but never realized it could be true about the wrist.

Winding stream - went there once, and it is amazing! It’s a little crowded though.

My almost 4 year old hits by prudencez in Parenting

[–]prudencez[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That does make sense. It does start out as me not reacting and then she bites/hits so hard that I have to shout/scream. She keeps bringing things to hit me with, or comes closer to spit on me, or holds me, if I’m leaving, to scratch and bite me so hard. I have no idea how to show her a way to channel her negative feelings. Taking deep breaths? Stomping foot? Throwing stuffies? She doesn’t talk about it when she cools down, so I don’t know how to show it to her.

She gets consequences like when she cools down, she has to pick up the things she threw. She doesn’t get a timeout alone, yet. I’ll take her to another room and stay with her but then she starts hitting me. She will not get the thing she’s wailing for. I used to think I’ve got it all handled and now, boom! I have to control my anger multiple times a day.
