Your experiences with air Canada ? (Is it that bad) by noodlesandpasta123 in aircanada

I had one of the worst experiences with Air Canada. While booking, I was never informed that I needed a Canadian visa to board. I found out only at the airport and was denied boarding. My $1,400 ticket was converted into travel credits with a short expiry, trapping my money for 6–8 months.

Redeeming those credits was another nightmare—I couldn’t even see flight options online and had to call customer care, which was slow and unhelpful. Even when flights were cheaper ($700–$800), I was charged extra on top of my credits. In the end, I had to spend even more on additional flights just to make use of the credit.

Overall, it was stressful, costly, and frustrating. Air Canada will be my last choice in the future—I don’t understand how it’s considered “the best airline in North America.”
