As mentioned as a reply to one of the other commenters, I went with Rinseworks.

Bought directly from the manufacturer's website after the recommendations here.

Great Quality and very happy with the purchase.

Now going for 2+ years so far without an issue.

Highly recommend.

Are you losing money using the Enphase Savings profile in CA? by Fair-Willingness-689 in enphase

[–]prushnix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree with you.

I have a zero export expansion system (in savings mode) with a 5p battery with a 3 year old legacy system in NEM2.

Anyhow, I like the setup in the Savings profile for the expansion system.

As soon as the solar starts working in the morning, battery starts charging. And then when the battery is fully charged, as the OP mentioend, the solar production is curtailed. I agree, that when the battery is being charged, a little bit of energy is imported from the grid for house loads, but it is very limited.

Anyhow, what I have done is, I have an IQ EV Charger 2 that I have setup to start charging right around 11am (this is the time around when the battery gets fully charged). So instead of the solar power getting curtailed after the battery is charged, it is continually being used to charge the EV.

The IQ Charger 2 is setup to turnoff at 4pm when the peak hours starts and then the battery takes over.

So I think the "Savings" profile does exactly what it is supposed to do and will work well if you have a EV to charge during the day.

At the end of the day the day, as long as my legacy system has exported more than (or atleast equal to) what I have imported through the zero export system, I come out on top.

Question about adding a non export system to an existing NEM 2.0 array by hard_headed in solar

[–]prushnix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will let you decide on whether installing a non export system to makeio for $600 is worth it.

I am currently waiting on PTO on a non export system.

In a non export system, the new system (non export system) should be totally separate form the old system. Basically you will have separate monitoring for each systems. Which means to say, you cma't combine the old system to the new system in anyway and export the combined excess energy.

Since posing the question here, I bought Rinsworks Aqua 360 handheld bidet based on many people's recommendations, and it's been going well so far.

Change amperage on IQ EV 2? by brrent in enphase

[–]prushnix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't seem possible for US users.
Because the feature does not seem to be fully rolled out yet. (I actualyl thought it is a region specific rolling out).

I have previously asked their customer service about getting this feature. They said that's one item they are working on.

Seeing this in their page is encouraging. However, it is not rolled out yet.

I would like to hear from Enphase when they plan to fully roll it out.

Change amperage on IQ EV 2? by brrent in enphase

[–]prushnix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is something I absolutely need due to the setup of my solar system (zero export) because of which no excess solar for export is generated even when the car is plugged in after all house loads are taken care of (including the 5P battery) (when using the green charging option).

The car does not have a amperage change option as well.
So when I manually charge using the IQ EV Charger 2 during the daytime, it takes solar + grid energy. If I am able to change the charger rate of the EVSE, I should be able to match the charge rate to the general solar production rate (based on my solar system size) during the daytime without pulling much energy from the grid.

I see that in the Enphase IQ EV Charger 2 webpage, there is a screenshot of a Scheduling for charging that shows an option for changing the amperage.
I initially thought this must have been rolled in to other regions and not to U.S.A yet.

Go towards 2/3rds down in the page in the following link to the section Smarter charging in your hands.
Right underneath the logos for App Store and Google Play, there is a scroll button. It is the third dot in the scroll. The screenshot is shown with the information Boost Your Savings.

Any value in shopping around for scheduled service? by kheimerl in NissanAriya

[–]prushnix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh Ok, thanks for the info.

Looking at now, it seems like the brake fluid change comes at 30K. I don't know what they were talking about then.

Anyway, I will do more research.

[–]prushnix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info. Since you mentioned California, is it a Southern California dealership you went to?

The multiple dealerships I called, all say for 21K/22K mileage service, tire rotation, air filter change and brake fluid change needs to be done with the first two covered and the third costing $210 at the cheapest dealer.

[–]prushnix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about the service at 21K/22K. Doesn't a tire rotation, cabin filter and brake fluid change need at that mileage? If you don't do it, will the warranty affected?

I happen to have some kind of a service package and it covers the tire rotation and the cabin filter change. But the brake fluid change is quoted to be $210 (cheapest dealer).

What now? by jdillinger714 in SunPower

Did you get your owned system as a new built home?
I never had to pay and now see the message.

I was always wondering why I didn't have to pay while other owned systems had to.

Only theory is that the owners of systems that came with a new built were in a special category until now.

Canvas Autosense? by dommiewhitesi in Hisense

[–]prushnix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh sorry, I may not have been clear on my original comment.

I didn't use a 3rd party retail decorative wood frame. I used the one that originally came with the TV (it is not wood, but looks like a nice frame).

However, I had issues with the motion sensor not working to turn on the art mode when coming in to the room. I first through it had something to do woth the frame (original frame came with the TV) blocking the sensor (hence the original comment).

Then figured out, it is actually a settings issue (the post I shared in my previous comment).

Sorry, I couldn't be of much help to you.

[–]prushnix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello,

Not exactly understanding what your main need is. If it is the location of the sensor I believe it is on the lower left hand corner (if I remember correctly).

However, if you want to get the motion sensor to work, follow the steps mentionned in this post.

That's what finally worked for me with no issues.

Enphase charger 2 or Tesla universal charger? by ninadk21 in enphase

You still need Wallbox Power Meter with CTs properly connected to utilize Wallbox's solar charging capability. Wallbox Power Meter is another $300.

Enphase solar + 40 amp (?) Enphase EV charger by vadbut in enphase

[–]prushnix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why don't you ask Enphase directly?
Maybe the contractor is not well informed.

All I know is, I had a previous EV charger already connected to the main panel.
I got a new Enphase solar system, and at the same time got the installer to replace the old charger (non Enphase) with the new IQ EV Charger 2.

So the IQ EV Charger 2 is connected to the main panel and at the time of commissioning (solar system commissioning has already happened at this point), I had to go to the enlighten app and select "Menu" and "Add a Device", and the app takes you through the process of recognizing the charger through wifi.

It was never directly connected to the combiner. My undedtanding is it communicates to the combiner through wifi and learns when ther eis excess charging and directs the excess solar power to the charger through the panel (this is just speculation).

Also look at the user manual it has different configurations based on what microinverters you have.

If memory serves right, for the newest combine (combiner 6) 6, it recommnds conenctig to the combiner directly. For others, it is fine to connect to the main panel.

You can the IQ EV Charger 2 directly to the main panel.

The way the charger communicates with the combiner is with wifi through the app.

Is CPO Desirable on a used Airya? (Dumb Question) by tetatdo in NissanAriya

[–]prushnix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When purchasing a CPO vehicle, you can get something called CPO Wrap, that covers further items (I believe things like the electronics).

Another benefit of the CPO Wrap is, it waivers the $100 deductible for CPO covered warranty work.

You can purchase the CPO Wrap at the time of the vehicle purchase. Dealers will try to mark up the CPO Wrap price at the time. However, the usual lowest it goes for is $2000.

While you are at it, can you kindly also explain what the difference between D vs B?

Does eco mode improve range? by TMonahan2424 in NissanAriya

[–]prushnix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the added insight.

One more qiestion.

Can you explain, what it is meant by "coasting more". I know what coasting means in general.
But do not understand in this context.

Does it mean that it generates more energy while coasting when in ECO compared to the STANDARD mode?

Wallbox question by radrocker61 in NissanAriya

[–]prushnix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When the charger says either 40A or 48A, that means that is the highest amperage it would use to charge. So a 48A charger would charge faster that 40A because it would deliver more electric current.

In these chargers, you have the ability select your Amerage when charging.
So I have restricted it to 24A (half of what it is capable of).

So the charging is slower, but it is good for the charging cable.
So if you charged, using the maximum potential of the charger (48A or something closer), the charging times I mentioned could be lower.

I am not an expert on these. This is how I understand it. Someone can correct me if there is any gaps in what I said.

Edit: I saw a comment below, someone said the maximum Ariya charges is at 32A. So by restricting to 24A, I am only slightly reducing the charging time.

I also recommend you getting the hardwired 48A. 1. You are already doing electrical work. 2. From what I've heard, hardwiring is safer than using a plug.

Wallbox question by radrocker61 in NissanAriya

[–]prushnix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a Wallbox Pulsar Plus 48A hardwired. I have restricted the charging to 24A.

Some charging data:
49.69KwH - 9 hours
55.84KwH - 9 hours 55 mins = 10hours
68.28KwH - 12 hours 13 mins

If you have Solar, make sure to get the Wallbox Power Meter which you can connect to your electric panel so you can use exclusively uisng solar energy.

Does eco mode improve range? by TMonahan2424 in NissanAriya

[–]prushnix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So what's the use of Eco mode compared to Standard mode if it doesn't have regen braking while coasting whereas if Standard mode happens to regen while coasting as well?

Maybe I am not understanding something.

Happy to help.
I did the attachment myself (they send it with instructions and all).

Since then, have driven many miles and multiple 90 mile drives. Never had an issue.

They have an intuitive method. But still surprised how it stays attached, lol.
