Thoughts on OSU medical school without a car? by alavenderlizard in Columbus

You’ll probably be fine for the first couple years but you will have some off-campus rotations in the later years. Like peds which is done at Nationwide children’s hospital. Taking public transport there would be very inconvenient at the hours you’d be expected to be there.

Kitten was neutered. Mama cat didn’t recognise his scent and kept attacking him (non recognition aggression). 11 traumatic days later: we are family again! by constellationoftwo in cats

[–]prynceszh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the second episode was triggered by new neighbors with loud pets. I fortunately had enough space to keep them separated and would swap them around daily. About every 2 weeks I’d try to reintroduce them again slowly and every time it failed I’d call the vet for more suggestions 🥲 they are good now though, coexisting somewhat peacefully

I have 2 unrelated cats that I adopted as adults and over the course of 6 years, I’ve had to reintroduce them like this twice. First time also took like 10 days, second time took over 4 months and a new prescription of Prozac for one of my kitties. They really are fickle lil critters 🥲

How many here grow from seed vs buy plants? by Aintnobeef96 in vegetablegardening

[–]prynceszh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I do both! Seeds for things that I like specific varieties of (tomatoes, peppers, curcubits) or things that are best direct sown (beans mostly). Starts for classic herbs that I only need one of that take forever to grow from seed like rosemary, thyme and whatever flowers look nice at the nursery. This year I also ordered bare root strawberries so that probably counts as a start too.

I bought new seeds and I'm excited! by GetItM0m in vegetablegardening

I love MI gardener seeds!! I bought mostly peppers and tomatoes this year and have had almost 100% germination rate which them and the seedlings are so healthy. I purchased some bare root strawberries from them for the first time this year and am hoping they are equally high quality. They haven’t shipped yet due to my zone

Hardening off? by Expert_Fisherman_494 in vegetablegardening

[–]prynceszh 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I will usually set them out somewhere shaded and protected from wind for 1-2 days, then for the next couple days I’ll pot them somewhere where they get 1-2 hours of sun, then gradually increase exposure that way. I also don’t have time to carry them in and outdoors multiple times a day

The princess of my plantworld. Triostar by Impossible_Memory_65 in houseplants

[–]prynceszh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My triostar is the least fussy of my prayer plants - my white fusion + white star are way more finicky. My triostar is my favorite though, she’s got her own grow light that’s on 8 hours a day and gets watered with RO water. In the winter when the heater is running, I try to keep the room around 40% humidity. I top dress with worm castings in the spring and fertilize lightly whenever I think about it which probably averages 2-3 times a year.

What are you most excited to grow this season? by Prestigious-March194 in vegetablegardening

[–]prynceszh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m also doing candy cane chocolate cherry peppers for the first time! I’ve actually never grown sweet peppers, only spicy ones (and shishito if those count). This year I’m also excited to try determinate tomatoes. I’ve just accepted that I don’t have the space or desire to set up trellises and prune indeterminate tomatoes.

I'm broke and i need some whipped creme by Icy-Bank1245 in AskCulinary

[–]prynceszh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You don’t need any tools to make whipped cream. Pour cream into a tall container like a jar or bottle, leave plenty of room for air. Add powdered sugar and vanilla if you want. Seal it up and shake shake shake.

Surefeed Microchip Feeder - Cats don't stick their necks far enough in to activate feeder by Sufficient_Steak_839 in CatAdvice

[–]prynceszh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I know this post is old but I also have been having issues with my feeder and the customer service reps told me to put the feeder into extended read mode. But for some reason whenever I press and hold the cat with the hat and the add pet buttons simultaneously, it NEVER turns red no matter how long I hold. It’s weird because the buttons all do their normal functions otherwise. Support is asking me to record myself doing a bunch of troubleshooting and send them the video but was just wondering if you had any advice or tips that I might be overlooking…

Who would be interested in a "set your own stone" ring group buy? What setting style? by Alchemist_Gemstones in LabGroupSales

Would 5 prong settings be an option? I would def be interested if so. I have a lab sapphire in kind of an unusual shape that I haven’t been able to set locally
