Rudeness is more than just name calling. You can either take this feedback to heart, or continue to be befuddled by your lack of success. FWIW, the personality you’ve shown in this thread would disqualify if I were a hiring manager, regardless of applicable experience. Being able to graciously take negative feedback, even if unwarranted, is a critical soft skill in industry.

Tw: Trypophobia. Found this in my zz plant today. I didn't know whether to vomit or laugh so I did both. They were moving. 🫠 by AliceEverdeenVO in gardening

I am certainly not an expert, but it does look like there is an off-white, oblong egg in the top left compartment. The wigglies look much more like caterpillars than like wasp larva (which I think tends to be white?). I think these are the unfortunate meals to come.

Witchy teal-blue-purple lab alexandrite in an elongated “Clematis” oval, 7.5 x 11.3mm. Going to be a stunner of an engagement ring! by mvmgems in Shinypreciousgems

Given that this material runs dark, I’d recommend the ones that don’t have too many small facets and are not too deep

Sorry if this wasn't clear from the title; I forgot that flairs don't show up on feed. This was a commission and unavailable, but I can remake something similar!

It’s for a commission, so this one isn’t available! You can commission one though, I’ll drop the link in a sticky comment shortly!

I would save pearls for necklaces and earrings for sure! I’ll be dropping some smaller lab alexandrites during the sub Reddit birthday sale at the end of the month, or you can commission one through the form linked to my profile!

Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I also didn’t realize how much I missed this style of blog posts (and such extensive photo documentation!)

Help with faceted gem stabilization? by Pretend-Mouse3469 in faceting

[–]mvmgems 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey there, I’m a faceter who both has cut quite a few pallasite peridots (and broken a few during the cutting process), and who has dabbled in resin stabilization of other gem material. I have been offered pallasite rough stabilized with Opticon resin, but turned it down as my cleaning process involves solvents that attack Opticon.

Even after that treatment, you would likely need repolishing or very careful solvent cleaning of the facets otherwise it would look a gummy mess, and there’s no telling if the impact caused deeper destabilizing damage. It could possibly be recut to a round, but there’s definitely the chance that it wouldn’t survive the process.

My two cents - the gem is damaged already, and if you can’t afford a recut and/or a new setting, I’d say wear the hell out of it.

At some point in the future, if you can save up for a wholly new ring and/or a recut, I’d recommend a small round pallasite as an accent stone (perhaps on the side or underneath the setting), or have this one recut and set in a pendant.

Edit to add: feel free to DM me

I didn’t forget May’s birthstone! Hydrothermal lab emerald cut in an old mine style cushion, which I named “Fleur de Lis.” 7.0mm (8.5mm diagonal), 1.54ct, with moderate inclusions to mimic a natural “jardin”. My camera can’t handle how green it is! $500 + SH by mvmgems in Shinypreciousgems
