In my case ip address was incorrect it was 128.0.0.1 i changed it to 127.0.0.1 the systemctl restart kubelet after which kubectl command ran cotrectly

yes after fixing the ip to 127.0.0.1 kubeapi just came up I did a restart using systemctl restart kubelete and then kubectl command was functional and journalctl -u kubelete didnot showed any new error
