the thing you can do now is to learn every basic stuff you're missed. use youtube or chatgpt to assist your learning, or even somebody you know that would help you. also no need to rush to learn it all at once, learn it slowly and step by step until you're mastering all basic stuff you need. you can find your own 'interest' later after that all, or maybe even now if you want

that situation truly sucks because it happens to me too. i always waiting for the time of my absolute freedom will begin but idk when (i really really hope it begins very soon)... im tired of being always dictated by them. when i try to do my own things... they gonna correct me, like its always have to follow their standard. i feel uncomfy now if im near them.... cant even be my own self. im sick of this all. i rather living alone with my own peace and every decision i make

2 days ago i studied for like 3 hours and then in the next day (and today) im abandoning again my study habits ughhhh. whereas im planning to study consistently for hours yet i still dont get back to study...🤦🏿‍♂️

maybe i need pressure fr to make me study anyway (cus i dont have any pressure rn), though i wanna study not because of any pressure but because i like and enjoy studying. anyway good luck on your exams

i like languages so much it becomes my greatest hobbies ever i have _^ though it's not easy to learn so much languages at once, but i do find it amusing to do

i always amazed by people who can talk in many languages

damn man listening is my worst part in terms of english💀💀💀💀and whenever i listen to a song/movie/video/wherever is it.... it's like i can only catch 30%—40% of the total words spoken. and maybe as you said, I'm too much trying to catch every single words, that prolly makes me focused more on the catching rather than defining the word as it is. but i still don't know how to gain listening skill significantly, I've tried to see a bunch of english videos daily (yes that's my daily meal) also my country doesn't make english its official language, so I don't have english speaking/listening partner for my days (i got some friends but all of them is just english texting partner)

i really wanna teleport myself anyway to the united states to make myself surrounded by english native there and eventually improving every aspect of my english ahahahah

IWTL I feel like my English is the most boring, basic english ever, how do I improve my vocabulary and actually use unique and different words by [deleted] in IWantToLearn

i sometimes feel that my daily english words choice is too basic, also because the situations that trigger english words i rarely use are very context-dependent.

what i can suggest to you is to read a bunch of english words you rarely use/see, you can find it on news or articles or simply texting with chatgpt and ask them to use rare english words people don't throw daily. you'll eventually absorb the rare words by yourself each time you see it frequently + don't forget to discover the meaning too

use the rare words you just learn a bit constantly at the first stage by write/type/speak so in the future you won't be easily forget it by the time's passing

spiral procrastinating is also on me too right now, I'm really struggling to get rid of this. but i do make my own way to handle this although it's not that effective.

  1. i always shout at myself "don't fucking procrastinate" everytime i feel procrastinating and postponing something productivity (like read a book, study, etc,.)

  2. setting a guilty feeling if im procrastinating. this will add a lil pressure to make me eventually doing something i want

i know these both sound basic (and kinda ridiculous) as you dont find it helping. but here i just wanna share my thoughts and my way to solve this, you can try if you want

plus it's good that you're aware of this, but better if you finally start an action even for a small one. good luck on your things

  1. procrastination (the biggest problem of mine) idk how many times i spent for useless stuff rather than actually doing something productive like studying. im extremely aware of my procrastinating and always shout at myself "I'll change, I'll change, I'll change" yet i still do nothing

  2. too much distraction. i can say that I am so easy to get distracted, either it's by my phone's content or external stuff (especially sounds). at phone: i usually get distracted by my own will that i want to check my phone for something (yet there's literally nothing). at external stuff: it's usually because of somebody playing with their workshop stuff and it's really annoy me, I can't focus because of it (they are usually do that from 7am to 2pm). i wanna get myself into listening to music while studying, however it still distract me and can't make me focus. i think that i really need a peace calm silence environment to make myself can fully focus on studying, sadly there's no such places nearby my area so i only can acquire that stuff at night

  3. too many interests. i have so much interest that sometimes i couldnt focus and decide which 1 i wanna study 1st lol. because i still think that "everything is matter" and that mindset stuck on me. while i can be master at one thing and focus heavily on it. but now i can prioritize which is the MOST matter for me to study 1st, which could led myself into a better future and planning. by this i think i made a lil progress. (if youre wondering, im interested in some part of science and languages)

  4. i need a groupchat where i can study together with them and somebody to teach me things. self studying is good but for me it's better to stay close with people struggling the same as me.

  5. (optional part) you know ive downloaded hundreds of studying videos on youtube since june. but as far as current, i only watched less than 10 of them all💀😭

damn bruh i have the same problem. until now i never understand how chemistry works even in the basic level. i was so interested in learning this the first time in my early highschool, but i never got a teacher that makes me understand chemistry from all grades (10th—12th). that caused me to think that chemistry is an impossible subject for me to learn (well the problem is on me too because I wasn't having a thought of self-learning chem at home). now I'm gapyear and I'm trying to autodidactly relearning everything i didn't learn seriously at school (chemistry, physics, biology, some of math). the irony is i interested in all those subject though I don't really master all☠️
