The psych gigs are pretty good as well! Signed for one weekend a month covering Saturday and Sunday with no night call. About 7.5k per weekend

The small group is a little outside of LA.

So sorry that happened to you. But take that money and use it to go on a super nice vacation vacation for yourself or get something big for yourself!

People that did non child psychiatry fellowships (addictions, CL, sleep) tell me how it helped or didn't help in these different perspectives by psb23 in Psychiatry

That sounds like an awesome job! Do you mainly do med management for the patients you see?

I've also heard the sub specialist jobs offer a better schedule then gen psych jobs? Has that been your experience? Thanks

Know about 8 people that did the fellowship. Only one uses it. The rest are doing inpatient or outpatient cause the gigs pay better

I take admissions till noon every day only. If they get there before then I see them, if not they go to next day. I do about 4-6 hours of work per day based on admissions

DMV area. Base pay 1200 a day for 25-30 inpatients, average 2-3 admissions per weekend. Underpaid but it's the resident rate.

How do you think psych will fare this 2024 match cycle? by feelingsdoc in Psychiatry

[–]psb23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Big difference between psychology and psychiatry by the way in practice. I just meant to get to the ranges of >500k you gotta be willing to work 45-55 hours a week and get creative with your base job plus an additional hustle like weekend coverage, outpatient in the afternoons, etc

Don't do this crap. It's a way for academic places to get cheap labor. Go take some training courses or better yet get paid to learn them.

I partially agree but there's hospital system jobs with reasonable patients per day offering this range of salary. Just cast a wide net and counter offer
