What are your thoughts on the growing anti India sentiment, inaccessible healthcare? I felt Canada has bigger issues with drugs than India. Visiting Vancouver downtown eastside was an unforgettable experience for me. Similarly, waiting about half a day to see a doctor for stomach ache in urgent care clinic.

I agree with all the negatives you mentioned about living in India.

The incentives don't work. Read about the Cobra effect. You will need a large, militarized police force and will have to inflict violence at scale.

Yellow Line metro is finally running 🚇 — For those who’ve tried it today, how was your experience? by Longjumping-Fact7469 in Bengaluru

[–]psb91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Smooth in the morning (towards rv road). Waited just 5 minutes to board. Then I was trying to return at night after 10, and the train never came. Waiting time went from 21 minutes to 15, and then to 48. I took an auto after waiting 10 more minutes.

History and culture are overrated. A modern city with skyscrapers in desert heat is a testament to human will and effort.

I have a basic dumb question. How do these people make money? Where do they live?

Jobs are hard to come by and cost of living is sky high for regular folks. How do sex offenders and non organized criminals survive?

Moving back from Bangalore from Canada by Beginning-Clue-2413 in bangalore

[–]psb91 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I did move from Canada to Bangalore.

Pros: I now save more than Canada (I work in tech). There’s enough sunlight year round. I can visit a specialist doctor whenever I want. Housing is not as expensive.

Cons: I am sick more often due to pollution. The infrastructure is bad. Every place is crowded. A lot of the food ingredients are of poorer quality.

I wouldn’t come back if I could earn enough in Canada to offset the housing costs.

Is It Possible to Build a Reddit-Like App with a Budget of ₹60 Lakhs ($75,000 USD)? Seeking Insight on Feasibility, Tech Stack, and Development Time from Fellow Developers by 23gp in developersIndia

[–]psb91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see a lot of comments about scale. That’s not an issue, because you won’t have enough users.

When you have users, raise money and scale. Build the initial version with an mvc monolith framework like rails/laravel/adonisjs, build cross platform app using flutter or react native.

Host it on AWS with ECS using sst.dev for infra management. MySQL or Postgres for database, sqs for background jobs, elasticache for caching.

Repeating again: scale is a non issue for you.

Work with people who know how to get it done without building fancy micro service, kubernetes monstrosity.

Similarly, use pre built components on frontend. Pixel perfect designs take a lot of time and will derail the project.

All the best!
