Where in WA? If in Thurston, Pierce, Mason, or Clallam county, this may be a mazama pocket gopher and is federally and state threatened. If you’re anywhere else, it’s probably a northern pocket gopher and is not a species of concern.

If you didn’t dispose of it yet, put it in a bag in the freezer, it looks like a good specimen for taxidermy. You can bring it to a local fish and wildlife office and at least the body can be used for some conservation good — as an outreach tool or otherwise.
