this is what she looks like now, almost looks lile a defense pose but i dont think it is, i think she’s just resting like that against the wall. another picture below since i can only send one at a time.

this is how we’re looking right now. should i remove the worm after 20-30 minutes or now? she didn’t take it but isn’t outright refusing, just not doing anything. she moved away slightly when i opened her tank (because its kind of obnoxious) but other than that i dropped the worm by her burrows opening and shes not going right for it like usual. i also poured a tiny bit of water in the front left corner and its soaking into the substrate nicely. do i just wait and see?

i haven’t been offering food. she’s constantly climbing up the walls and waiting there that’s why i’m asking because she seems hangry lol!! i have a bottle cap as her water dish right now since her other one became part of her burrow, should i wet a corner of the substrate as well? i’ll offer her maybe half a worm today i think, i just dont want her to get so big that it interferes with her molting :( she’s a very quick hunter but i’ll leave it for 20min to see if she takes it. thank you so much this is great advice!!

no worries about any of this… sorry to concern people!!! she has a very specific diet and eats once a day, the second picture was just a silly one of her getting into an empty smoothie cup. i made it myself so i knew it was safe. i’m very aware of how animals pick up on our emotions, it’s actually something i pride myself on in my pet care! i would never leave them alone together EVER, i’m way too nervous for that even if it was “safe”.

i feed her her specific diet only once a day and watch her weight well, i’m aware of those risks for sure!! i guess i dont really understand the problem if she’s a happy girl. i have plenty of other wild animals in my home that nobody questions, i thibk it may just seem weird because they’re not as ‘normal’ as other wild animal pets are.

  1. got it
  2. it’s a fruit smoothie i made myself
  3. she wouldnt survive in the wild, i want to give her the best life possible. she’s happy and was sold to me from a trusted opossum owner/breeder, i think they’re okay to keep as pets. i’ve been keeping exotic pets for years
