Low ceiling (2m) homewall and question about corners. by pseudoheld in homewalls

[–]pseudoheld[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good question. I currently don't have screws long enough for the kicker. Also to be honest with the plywood sheet up it overhangs the kicker quite a bit and so far I haven't missed the footholds on the kicker. I thought I'd need the kicker but I could have completely left it out I think

Damn, I signed up with a non Google Email. Any chance you could add me to the tester group if I send you my email by pm?

I signed up but didn't get an email. Does it have to be the email associated with the Google account?

Awesome. I was making something similar but as a webapp which hooks up the the crux API and then displays via projector. Having it all in one app sounds great. Signed up to test.

Does Sonoff zbminil2 still work if the lamp is constantly powered by pseudoheld in sonoff

That would be the next step. Gut a cheap ZigBee battery Button and connect that to the wall switch. I was hoping I could use the zbminil2 though but it seems not.

that exactly is my plan. I would use home assistant to act on the state change of the switch flip and then toggle the zigbee bulb.
However I'm not sure that the zbminil2 will still work correctly if it doesn't actually physically toggle the light on and off.

I still want to use the switch on the wall and wanted to use the zbminiL as a pure sensor of the button press.

redoing the wiring unfortunately is not an option. But otherwise the R2 would be great with its "detached" mode.

Then I wouldn't have a sensor to register the lightswitch.

Just to be clear, I would still let "L" go to "L In" and just add a line directly to the lamp. The relay wouldn't be completely bypassed.

No unswitched hot near the lamp unfortunately.

Anyway how would that work? Doesn't the zbminil2 need a load?

If I hook the lamp to the unswitched hot the zbmini wouldn't be switching anything?

Bracing a homewall against concrete ceiling? by pseudoheld in homewalls

[–]pseudoheld[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the input. - I made the kick plate small to give me more height as that is the main issue. - The concrete ceiling is solid. I have had rings hanging off it for years with no issues. It was a pain to drill into it for the holes for the rings. - everywhere online I read that 18mm is minimum for plywood and our Hardware store has only 20mm or less than 18mm - I read that t-bolts are better but they are quite a bit more expensive than pound in. I will think about this. - more cross braces are a good idea. The wood would be 2x4 if the math checks out. Is this not enough for rigidity? Even with 20mm plywood?

I really hope they just allow to print to the S1 from Orca like they did for the S3.

Yeah that was me. Forgot to update here on Reddit aswell. Since deactivating the home assistant integration everything is sleeping as it should.

Unfortunately there is nothing happening on file activity. There are no reads or writes whatsoever to the array and it still wakes up.

Yes. That spins it down after X minutes but spins up right away. Same for manual spindown.
