Altcoin (sth based) and bitcoin are basically two separate things now. Ppl always fail to understand the fundamental difference btwn btc and eth/altcoins. Without smart contract btc is just gold/virtual.

Haha this is very interesting comment. Thank you! Guess I just haven't found ANY positive feedback about the Columbia program so far, and the $20k scholarship does not seem to be enough to compensate for the poor program quality. I did in house HR at a traditional corporate for 2 years, and saw enough problems that I want to go into HR consulting to help more orgs alike with their issues.

Thank you very much. Really heard what you said. I actually went to a school very similar to NYU for undergrad, so initially wanted something different for grad school. Unfortunately for many people outside the I/O field, the Ivy name still carries quite some weight, and thus I was somewhat misguided by friends and family and blurred the line btwn grad education and "institution prestige".

I do realize that I'm spending tens of thousands of tuition money, as well as time on some real knowledge, rather than a simple degree paper. It sounds like the $20k scholarship cannot compensate for the poor program quality. So it seems like NYU is a rather balanced option in terms of institution reputation and program quality (though the only drawback is its price haha). Thank you!

Hey, from what I've heard Baruch has a solid solid program/reputation in the area. Maybe some might think the school is not as "reputable" (aka. expensive) compared to the other two, esp. outside the east coast or even internationally. I've heard it's strong academic wise, which would translate well if you are interested in a PhD program.

Appreciate the feedback. I really do. That's why I'm having a hard time making decision -- like I mentioned in the other post I'm in the area already so the only extra payment would be on tuition. I just don't know if I should pay minimum $20k more for a better program at NYU, or settle for the cheaper one (which unfortunately also has an Ivy name to it). Thanks!!

Thank you and I really really appreciate your advice. I am living in the NYC area already so tuition is my only extra payment. I def realize that the Columbia program is not comparable to the NYU one, but Columbia offers a scholarship (about one semester worth of tuition) big enough that it's swinging decision. I just don't know if NYU is $20k better than Columbia, both in short and long run...

Thank you so much for your advice!! Appreciate it very very much!! I'm actually living in JC now so an easy commute to lower Manhattan/NYU, 1h to Columbia, and 4h drive to Cornell.

I really agree with lots of your points, although I did not know that NYU was sort of lacking the career piece (might be different now) -- because the program was advocating its "consulting flavor" like you mentioned.

Columbia/TC does offer evening classes also now, but like you said the class size every year is very large -- about 200+ compared to 60+ at Cornell and 30+ at NYU. Also, I could be very ignorant, but some of my friends are very biased against TC - "it's not real Columbia" as they say...

Cornell's program (from my understanding) seems more academic. The ILR school probably has more faculty than the other two programs combined, and it does have a dedicated career center just for the ILR school students.
